Jennifer Hudson Does it Again!

J. Matthison
Watch out everyone - this girl is on fire! Jennifer Hudson now has a new award that she can add to her growing list. At the Soul Train Music Awards, which was held on Saturday (March 3, 2007), she won "Entertainer of the Year" for her role in Dreamgirls.

But what really made Jennifer stand out was that she actually attended the event, unlike her co-stars Beyonce Knowles and Jamie Foxx as well as 8 of the 13 winners from the event.

Yes, you heard right - only three of the winners actually came to the show, and one of those was Jennifer. The others? Jermaine Dupri and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds.

The rumor mill has been buzzing with speculation on why Beyonce Knowles decided not to appear. The main thought? She didn't want to be upstaged by her fellow Dreamgirls' co-star. Other possible reasons include that she didn't want to have anything to do with the show since they was allowing a former member of Destiny's Child (LeToya Luckett) to co-host the event.

Winners for the 21st Annual Soul Train Music Awards are:

Best Single (Female): Beyonce Knowles / "Irreplaceable"
Best Single (Male): John Legend / "Save Room"
Best Single (Group, Band or Duo): Gnarls Barkley / "Crazy"
Best Album (Female): Mary J. Blige / The Breakthrough
Best Album (Male): Jamie Foxx / Unpredictable
Best Album (Group, Band or Duo): The Isley Brothers Featuring Ronald Isley / Baby Makin' Music
Best New Artist: Ne-Yo
Best Music Video: Jay-Z / "Show Me What You Got"

Best Gospel Album: Kirk Franklin / Songs for the Storm Volume 1
Outstanding Career Achievement: Jermaine Dupri
Outstanding Career Achievement in Songwriting: Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds

The Soul Train Music Awards will air in syndication between March 17, 2007 and March 24, 2007.
