Jennifer Lopez Falls from Grace

J Lo: falling from grace

Why is Jennifer Lopez's fall at the AMA awards flying around the Internet like superwoman? This is because we can't help but laugh at the rich and successful when they make a mistake. We've got to feel a little bad for the Latina princesa, but at the same time J Lo's money bed might make her feel better.

J Lo: on the backs of men

For those of you who have seen the video you know that Jennifer Lopez walks up the backs of four guys before leaping to her uncertain fate below. It appears as though her man stairs aren't as reliable as she would have thought. How many times do you think she practiced that?

J Lo: 6th grade nightmare

We've all been there, at one point or another. We know what it's like to be embarrassed in front of a large group of people. However J lo is probably feeling a very special sting right now. How does one sleep at night knowing they've made a mistake in front of millions of people? Lopez is a seasoned performer and this isn't the first time she has made a mistake, but this can't feel good.

J Lo: quick recovery

This is the greatest and most endearing part of Lopez's fall from grace, she got up quickly! She hardly hesitated. This is why I can consider her a valid artist. I don't think she's the greatest singer of all time by any stretch of the imagination. I, however, can really appreciate her quick response time and thick skin. After her fall she got right up and started dancing immediately. That floor looked really slippery.

J Lo: why are we so judgmental?

So why is it that everyone and their mom is looking up J-Lo's fall from grace on the Internet? Are we superficial judgmental hypocrites? Are we incapable of just gracefully letting go of someone's mistake? Must we rub it in? People apparently can not get enough tragedy despite it being all over the place. We love watching mistakes. There are entire websites designed to show flaws in human behavior. We are like this because for some very strange reasons we like to watch each other fail, or fall as is in this case.

J Lo: final thoughts

So J-lo you have obviously had a great deal of success in your career and this slip up can not possibly erase the years of hard work that you have endured forging your skills. Nonetheless don't pretend like it didn't happen. When people ask you about it, laugh with them if you can. It's not going to be easy. Everyone wants to be right all the time. You're not perfect, and if you can laugh at your mistakes people will really appreciate your humanity.
