Jennifer Agnes Weiner was born in DeRidder, Louisiana on an Army base on March 28, 1970.
At the age of 2, Jen moved from DeRidder to Simsbury, Conneticut. In 1987, Jen graduated from Simsbury High School, the graduation speaker.
In 1987, Jen began her journey at Princeton University. According to Jennifer Weiner's site, she accomplished several things at Princeton: "As co-founder of the Committee to Coeducate Eating Clubs, she leads a campus-wide campaign to get the school's two remaining all-male eating clubs to accept female members. She also takes creative writing courses with J.D. McClatchy, Ann Lauterbach, John McPhee, Toni Morrison, and Joyce Carol Oates. In 1990, she wins Princeton's Academy of American Poets prize. She writes her senior thesis on representations of maternity in women's novels and film." Jennifer graduated summa cum laude in 1991 with her English degree from Princeton.
From 1991 until 2000, Jen held a variety of journalism jobs. Her articles appear in publications such as Knight Ridder news wire, Seventeen magazine, Redbook, Lexington Herald-Leader (Lexington, Kentucky), The Inquirer and Mademoiselle Magazine. She did everything from op-ed pieces, to covering special events (such as the Democratic National Convention, Wrestlemania and the Miss America Pageant). Jen also appeared on "Philly After Midnight", a Philadelphia late-night television show, as a cultural commentator.
2001 was the beginning of Jen's career as a novelist. Her first book, "Good in Bed", is published in May 2001. "Good in Bed" makes the New York Times' Best Seller List by May.
In October 2001, Jen marries her husband, Adam.
Jen's most famous book, "In Her Shoes", is released in September of 2002.
On May 10, 2003, Jen gives birth to her first child, a girl, named Lucy Jane.
September 2004 marks the publishing of Jen's third book, "Little Earthquakes". Her fourth book, "Goodnight Nobody", is published in September of 2005.
In October of 2005, the movie based on "In Her Shoes" is released.
Jen's first collection of short stories, titled "The Guy Not Taken", is published in September 2006.
On November 30, 2007, Jen's second daughter is born: Phoebe Pearl.
In April 2008, "Certain Girls" is published. "Certain Girls" is the sequel to Jen's first novel, "Good in Bed."
July 2009 brings the publishing of another novel by Jen: "Best Friends Forever".
"Fly Away", Jen's latest novel, is released in July 2010.
