Jericho / Address Information & Fan Plan #2

CBS Jericho Cancelled Second Time

Matt A. Maxx
Well, darn. Here we go again. CBS has made their official announcement that Jericho will not have a season 3. They base their decision to terminate Jericho on the fact that not enough people watched this show on television while Jericho is available for viewing on the internet and other alternative places. (msnbc)

According to Jericho CBS chat-threads on the internet, CBS is attempting to sell Jericho to another studio. The campaign to revive Jericho from the ashes this time is going to be done through letters - not peanuts.

Our fan-plan includes sending a nice postcard or letter to CBS at this address to thank them for trying to sell Jericho so that it can continue.

CBS Paramount Network Television
5555 Melrose Avenue
Hollywood, CA 90038

Your message should read something like this:

Dear CBS, Thank you for trying to sell Jericho so that I can keep watching it.

Our fan-plan also includes sending a postcard or letter to these following people asking them to save Jericho.

Nancy Tellem
President, CBS Paramount Network Television Entertainment Group
Responsible for all entertainment operations at the CBS Television Network and the CBS Paramount Network Television production studio including development, programming, production, legal and business affairs.

David Stapf
President, CBS Paramount Network Television
Overseas all of the studio's program development and production for series and television movies for the broadcast, basic cable and premium channel markets.

Glenn Geller
Senior Vice President, Current Programming; CBS Paramount Network Television
Geller oversees prime time series activities for the Studio.

Your message should read something like this:

Dear Nancy Tellem, Please save Jericho for me. I enjoy watching this show.

With CBS indicating that they may try to market Jericho to another studio, there appears to be hope that this second death might not be the big one. If CBS assumes that Jericho is marketable, they must also assume that killing it off isn't necessarily the right thing to do. It will be up to us, the fans, to convince CBS that we need to keep Jericho going.

In my opinion, with our globe situation so unsettled, a show like Jericho has the potential to draw in a larger viewing audience than it already has. The flavor of Jericho is such that it can be related to current events that we hear about daily in the news. There is concern about global warming, 2012, terrorist activity, and other events that allows people to identify with a show that relates what might happen after a global tragedy.

Further, I'm simply tired of turning on my television with nothing but crime shows, reality shows, and doctor shows on it. Jericho is different, and that alone makes it desirable to many of us. So, CBS if you are reading this? Please save my Jericho show. It is a mistake to terminate Jericho based upon television ratings while we are watching it on the internet. Your viewers are out here.

They haven't run the second season yet here in Sweden, I think it starts next week. I really do hope some other station has the forsight to pick it up and run with it. It is one of the few intelligent shows coming out of the US...

Great article - and I'm tired of Crime and Doctor shows (which I won't watch). I basically watch a few shows and than Fox News Channel. It will remain this way until good shows like Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, and Jericho proliferate.

Good article. I loved the second season. I referenced and linked to this article in my new Jericho article.
