CBS May Be Reconsidering Its Plans for Jericho

It appears that fans of the canceled cult television show, Jericho, on CBS, may have actually made the network stand up and take notice, according to the Associated Press. The many fans of Jericho have been calling, emailing, writing, and even sending nuts to the CBS studios, to show their great displeasure in the early termination of Jericho.

A source close to the production said Tuesday that CBS may be reconsidering its plans as to the cancellation of Jericho. This source, who wanted to remain nameless since they did not have any authorization to publicly comment on this decision, told the Associated Press that the probability to bring Jericho back for a midseason run is imminent.

"We are tired of the networks (not just CBS) tossing aside quality programming," was the message carried by jericholives.com, one of several web sites protesting the cancellation. "Enough! We're going to fight for this one."

It is possible that CBS realized the loss in viewership of Jericho may be due to the long hiatus in the middle of the season. This kind of hiatus also put small dents in the audiences of hit shows like Lost and Heroes.

The Nuts for Jericho campaign resulted in approximately 50,000 pounds of nuts being sent to the New York offices of CBS. These nuts are being donated to charities, including one that will supply nuts to the troops overseas.

Yet another example of a decent TV show getting another chance at life with a good audience who appreciates quality television.

I stopped watching after about 8 episodes but it's a good show. Networks cancel the good shows.

I'm glad they are bringing "Jericho" back, I'm just very irritated that they did this at all. The show will definitely feel the loss of Gerald McRainey. I wish they hadn't killed him off.
