Jersey Shore Cast Members Invade the Grammy's, Get Second Season

Jersey Shore, Jersey Shore, all I hear is Jersey Shore. Am I surprised? I guess I would be lying if I said I was. It just really amazes me how people with absolutely zero talent can end up attracting millions of viewers from across the globe. Now that the first season of Jersey Shore is over, everyone is revving up for season two. In this article, I will describe all of the "great benefits" that will come from a second season of Jersey Shore.

Mike (known as "The Situation") wore a basic suit including black pants and a black dress shirt with a blue shirt underneath. Of course, he showed off his abs (it's getting quite old). Snooki wore a dark purple low cut dress with a pair of dark black high heel shoes. Neither one of these people dressed with class, but I guess that is what that have become known for. So what qualifies these two to attend the Grammy's? I have no idea. Maybe it is the fact that their show won some recognition at the Golden Globes when January Jones of the hit show Mad Men expressed how much she loved the show (click here).
MTV's Contribution to America

Over the last year, the U.S. government has thrown out a $787 billion dollar stimulus package, billions upon billions of dollars to the auto industry, billions more to banks, and even billions more to bail out the real estate industry. So what does this have to do with Jersey Shore? That's right, the downfall of the dollar.

According to an article on TMZ (posted January 31^st, 2010) titled "Jersey Shore Cast-All for One and One for All," each cast member on Jersey shore will receive $10,000 per episode during season 2. So if there are ten episodes, that is $100,000 per person or $800,000 for all cast members combined. This is not including the costs of making the show. So here is the equation:

$787 billion stimulus package+ $$$ for auto industry+ $$$ for banks+ $$$ for real-estate+ $$ for Jersey Shore= the continued falling of the dollar and the collapse of American society.

First off, I did not sit down and watch all of the episodes from season one straight through. I only watched tidbits here and there. When I first heard about the show, I knew from the very start that it would be very unentertaining. I have seen many bad shows, but this one takes the cake. First off, these people need to learn how to speak. From the small parts I watched, I noticed that I did not even understand a thing they were saying. I guess I just don't have any of that cool Jersey Shore blood running through my veins.

According to an article on TMZ titled "Jersey Shore Kids Drive Hard Bargain," the original offer made to the cast by MTV for season two was a $10,000 sign on bonus and $5,000 dollars per episode. The cast rejected the offer. What? So $60,000 dollars per person (assuming there were ten episodes) is not enough? Many average everyday Americans like me would love to make that kind of money doing jobs that actually require a brain. The cast had the nerve to say that they wanted to be paid the same way that the cast on the hit Fox series Friends was paid. All of them wanted to be paid the same amount and wanted a much higher offer.

Let me make it clear that Jersey Shore will never acquire what Friends acquired. At the height of the Friends saga, each cast member was getting paid $1 million per episode. At least the cast of Friends was convincing, funny, and entertaining. The only thing that the cast of Jersey Shore has going for them is their youth, nothing more and nothing less. Once that youth wears off, they will have nothing but empty retirement accounts and STDs.
