"Jersey Shore" Headed to Italy: What Will They Do There?

How will the "Jersey Shore" cast handle spending season 4 in Italy? They'll probably be in for quite a culture shock.

TMZ has confirmed that the "Jersey Shore" cast is for sure headed to Italy for the show's fourth season, and, despite their Italian roots, the cast could really use a little Italian seasoning. After all, Snooki and Co. are used to the way that they're treated here in the U.S., where the reality show stars have become just as famous as the talented actors and actresses we see on the silver screen. In Italy, it's unlikely that they'll be such a big deal.

America's love of all things trashy is what has made the "Jersey Shore" cast such big stars, so it's hard to imagine how residents of a country known for its rich history that includes amazing art and architecture will take to them. Will they treat them like annoying tourists? Probably. So I have a feeling that the "Jersey Shore" cast is going to end up in a tourist district somewhere so they'll experience more of the European clubbing culture (where they're likely to run into other Americans and people from other parts of the world) than the more intellectual side of Italy.

But of course they'll partake in plenty of Italian cuisine (which doesn't include pickles, Snooki), and the cast is already set to enjoy a big dinner with some of Vinny's relatives while they visit the homeland. I can't imagine Italian girls wanting anything to do with MVP (most have probably learned to avoid flaky tourist types), but it probably wouldn't be too hard for the ladies to pick up some Italian stallions (if only they would fall for the allure of a few foxy foreign guys and decide to stay...).

So will we get to hear Snooki explain why the Leaning Tower of Pizza is leaning? Will she get drunk and fall in the Trevi fountain? Will The Situation enjoy visiting the Colosseum, an ancient football stadium? And will they take a trip to see the freakin' Pope? It will definitely be interesting to see how Italy reacts to the "Jersey Shore" cast, and, while they may all have Italian blood coursing through their veins, I have a feeling that what they'll find visiting their roots is one big culture clash.
