Jersey Shore Season 2 Finds New Location in Miami's South Beach

The New Season of Jersey Shore Won't Even Be Filmed in New Jersey

The Jersey Shore has found a new location. Jersey Shore's season two will be filmed in Miami's South Beach instead of actually on the Jersey Shore. According to Radar Online, filming is set to begin on March 20th in Miami and will be the second "reality" show filmed in the area. Right now the Kardashian's (Kourtney and Khloe) are still filming their show in the same area. Congratulations to the South Beach area for becoming such a huge draw for the Jersey Shore kids that they can support two reality shows at the same time. It's a bold move for a show that took roots in New Jersey to move to Miami, but maybe MTV felt they had over-stayed their welcome at the Jersey Shore.

The Jersey Shore is basically a take-off of MTV's The Real World where the show follows a number of men and women that are forced to live in the same tight quarters of a house. There is always lots of partying, lots of clubbing, and of course a lot of people hooking up with the cameras close by to film it all. MTV has slowly raised the following of the Jersey Shore to the point that the reunion show at the end of the first season became one of the most watches hours of television that MTV has been able to put on the air. The ratings numbers have been so good for the show that the Jersey Shore could be around for a few more years at the rate of increase they are seeing.

It's an odd move to fully support moving a show from the place where it got its name, and to actually call this a second season of the Jersey Shore is a bit of false advertising. The second season of the show may not even see a single moment of the show take place in New Jersey, and that seems to be completely different from what the show was about in the first place. The point of the show was to depict what goes on in New Jersey, and moving the cast to South Beach may seem a bit ridiculous to people that don't watch the show very often. We will all see this summer if the ratings can stay strong with the new shooting location.
