Jesse Blaze Snider: A Fire by Any Other Name Wouldn't Burn as Hot
Who is Jesse Blaze Snider and Why Should You Know Him?
At 25 Jesse Blaze Snider embodies and embraces his name. He is the not so twisted son of Dee Snider, front man for the legendary rock band Twisted Sister. Despite having famous rock lineage Jesse is not just another celebrity spawn playing on his parent's stardom for some of his own. His employment history reads like that of any other twenty something American.
His first job as a door-to-door sales representative for the Police Athletic League coupon book certainly doesn't smack of nepotism. His next few leaps and bounds included stints at Seven Eleven, Block Buster Video, Planet Comics, and a florist. For good measure he tried telemarketing and construction.
Then things began veering off the beaten path with jobs at MTV, Fuse, WLIR, and the BONE on Long Island. As if his life weren't interesting enough he became a semi pro football player with the Brooklyn Mariners, an AOL Music VJ, a gymnastics coach and a voice over actor. His voice may sound familiar if you've ever seen commercials for Burger King, Pizza Hut, Cheetos, Gamestop, or Showtime.
After 8 years of toil Jesse garnered himself what he considers the ultimate job opportunity: writing a comic book. Though his father has not propelled him along any path or parleyed his own fame into instant notoriety for his son he is very much involved and supportive. Jesse's first published comic, Dee Snider's Strangeland Seven Sins, for Fangoria Comics was a prequel to his father's motion picture, Dee Snider's Strangeland. Due to hit shelves June 25 is his dip in the Deadpool with Marvel Comics'Presents #10. Future possibilities include Marvel's The Incredible Hulk, and DC Comics'Batman.
At 25 Jesse became the face for the Rock N Roll revival movement as he demolished MTV's Rock The Cradle for six straight weeks. The show featured children of rock stars who wanted out of their parent's shadows. The term "rock star" was very loosely translated to include Olivia Newton John, Al B. Sure, and Bobby Brown. Perhaps this is why the youngsters were hard pressed to define rock when asked to do so on camera. Jesse had no problem with that as "kick ass" rolled effortlessly off his tongue. A resounding once a week chorus of "My kid kicks ass" by Dee reinforced what those watching knew, Jesse was the one to beat.
Unfortunately for the contestants featured on Rock The Cradle they weren't allowed to perform their own compositions. Every week Jesse made whatever song he did into a rock extravaganza while the others struggled. Riding high on performances that delivered a total package Jesse rightfully made it to the finals where he was preempted from his only chance to perform an original song when Crosby Loggins (son of Kenny Loggins) was proclaimed the winner. Ever the consummate gentleman Jesse congratulated Crosby and, much to the chagrin of producers trying to provoke more conflict, refused to comment on the shock opting to thank his supporters before giving the stage over to Crosby and joining his previously cast off contemporaries on the sidelines.
Amid the maelstrom created by editing the behind the scenes footage to make him look like a pompous arrogant jerk Jesse took to the airways and internet with a live call in and chat show every Sunday night on Talkshoe.com. If you were so inclined you could log in, type in, call in, and even talk to Jesse live. He openly answers all questions regarding his life, the reality TV experience, and his other endeavors. He takes great pains to be accessible to all his fans through all possible outlets including answering his e-mails personally.
When asked about his childhood and his philosophies of life he answers as confidently, convincingly, and eloquently as any motivational speaker about finding peace with who and what you are and how to make your own way in the world always striving for the things you desire without waiting for them to come to you or blaming the lack of them on someone else. He is a man poised at the edge of greatness and he's ready to jump in with a back flip. He will surely deliver himself into our homes in ways he hasn't even dreamed up yet.

Post a CommentI seen Jesse when he worked for MTV, went to his bands website and was an instant fan. Now with Rock the Cradle people get to see what I seen years ago. I loved his music from the start and am waiting for MTV to start putting his band in regular rotation. Jesse is not like other celeb's kids in fact he is more the guy walking down the street that you wouldn't look at because he dresses a little funny, but hey didnt your parents tell you dont judge a book by its cover. I cant wait to find out what hes doing next.
