Jesse James from Manchester

For Michael

zuke

Jesse James from Gangchester

Was just fifteen

When he died.

Jesse James from Gunchester

Was gunned down on his bike

In a park.

Jesse James from Manchester

Refused to join a gang

He just wanted everyone to be friends

And to be a friend to everyone.

Jesse James from Manchester

Was no outlaw

He rejected the outlaw's law

Became a different, braver kind of outlaw

For which he died.

The outlaws from Gangchester who killed him

Who no-one dares to name

Don't deserve the 'respect' they hold so dear

For which they kill.

Jesse James from Manchester

And others like him

Who have the courage to think for themselves

Deserve all the respect and love

We can give them.

Jesse James from Manchester,

I'll fight to make sure you didn't die in vain

Our kids need the world to remember you.

Beautiful, sad, and sweet. What a loving tribute to a courageous young man lost far too soon. Thank you so much!

You have done far more than written a poem. You have created a fitting and WONDERFUL tribute this young man's life and legacy. I just looked up in the sky and saw him smiling down upon all the true "knights" of Britan......with you being one of them. "The G-man"

We need more kids that are willing to "reject the outlaw's law"-- I LOVE that line! Excellent job of expressing a sentiment that I've felt for a long time. I look forward to more.
