Jesse Ventura Made Raw Watchable

Watching "WWE Raw" last night, I was reminded of how much I miss the older days of wrestling. For those of you who missed it, Jesse Ventura was the special guest host. Falling in line with the growing list of weekly celebs who are put in charge of the show for the night.

Last night was a night for the younger guys to finally shine. Guys like Kofi Kingston, Sheamus, those that have never really tasted the main event spotlight or know what it feels like.

While the rest of the world was busy watching our beloved Houston Texans blow yet another game, I was watching Raw go back to the days that I miss. The golden days of professional wrestling.

Jesse Ventura brought wrestling back to primetime last night. He had great interactions with Randy Orton and current WWE Champion John Cena. Everything flowed like it was all natural. It was one of the rare nights I was actually interested the whole night through. Well, minus the divas' little part.

When you bring someone in who has the knowledge and understanding of the business that Jesse Ventura has, you're almost guaranteed a win. He knows what real wrestling is about and knows what the fans will like. I would make a big push for someone like Ventura to be the permanent GM on Monday nights.

Next week, we get Verne Troyer. That's right, Mini-Me from Austin Powers will be in charge next Monday night. Definitely not looking forward to it, but I'll have the TV on just to see what happens.

It's also been confirmed that December 14, Dennis Miller will be the guest host of "Raw," as that night will see the return of The Slammy Awards. Lord only knows how much trouble Santino Marella will get into, as they'll be in Corpus Christi, Texas. I'll more than likely be making the trip up there for that, so we'll see what happens.

I like the special guest host each week. If they have someone interesting hosting I like to tune in and see what that person does.
