Jessica Simpson, the popular singer and actress, took part in the 2010 Operation Smile Annual Gala in New York City this year. Having been ordained the international youth ambassador by the organization, Operation Smile helps to raise funds for to provide corrective surgery for children who are born with a cleft plate. Broadway World reports on Jessica's appearance at the gala. For this year, Operation Smile stresses the achievements made on children living in the Assam state in India. Ratan Tata of the highly successful industries owned by previous generations of his family made a significant contribution to Operation Smile this year. In addition to Jessica, Donald Trump, Lydia Hearst, Melanie Dunea, Sessilee Lopez, and Whitney Port also appeared at the gala. While Jessica's appearance at charities are always welcome, she looked particularly stunning for this event. She wore a stunning Carolina Herrera evening gown in black with white, yellow, and red geometric designs. The form fitting dress also had a soft ruffle at the single shoulder strap which looks like a flower in full bloom. Jessica topped off the look with gold dangling earrings, a wide cuff bracelet, and chunky ring on her right hand. Jessica knows how to dress well and show off her figure at charity events.

Jessica Simpson is a natural match with Operation Smile. Even though she recently made a public statement regarding how frequently she brushes her teeth - three times a week - her dentist, Dr. Bill Dorfman admits she has told him another story. Having the skill and knowledge as dentists should, Dorfman believes she told the story to get some attention perhaps, but not giving others very good advice. Most people I know brush their teeth at least once a day, not three days a week to allow all kinds of food particles and bacteria to accumulate in and around the teeth. I suspect Jessica brushes her teeth just as often as we all do, not forgetting to floss, since her smile is always bright and fresh. At the age of 29, she knows how important it is to care for her teeth, seeing that she does have a dentist she visits regularly. If she did not care about her teeth, she would not have a smart dentist like Dorfman, and she certainly would not be an ambassador for Operation Smile. A smile like Jessica's is one any child with a cleft palate could only wish for, and it is organizations like these who can make a child's dream come true.
