Jessica Simpson Sad as Nick Lachey Moves on with Vanessa Minnillo (Photo Links)
"Even though Jessica wants to be happy for Nick, this is a very difficult time for her," according to one of Simpson's friends who spoke with Shuter.
The source also said that, "Nick was the love of her life then, man, and he was her first, so she will always have a very special place in her heart for him. She's deeply saddened."
It seemed an eternity for Nick to finally move on from his 2006 divorce from Simpson and make a commitment to long-time girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo, but after four years of dating, Lachey finally popped the question.

Apparently the source who spoke to Popeater also knows Lachey and stated that the former 98 Degrees singer was not going to lose someone he loves again.
"He never thought he would ever get married again after Jessica broke his heart. He never thought he would ever allow himself to be vulnerable again, but after dating for a long time he trusts Vanessa and knows she's the girl he wants to spend the rest of his life with," said the source.
