Jessica Simpson's Blonde Ambition Gets Delayed Release

How long can you delay a failure? Jessica Simpson's movie "Blonde Ambition" was slated to debut on August 3, however, the movie is being pulled out of the August competition. Why? It's no good.

Jessica's famously over-involved father and manager, Joe Simpson, made the decision. At first the movie was supposed to be moved to a debut date for later in August, but Joe interfered. Joe isn't comfortable with the level of competition from other films that month. Joe is a credited producer on "Blonde Ambition" just as he was for Jessica's film "Employee of the Month".

Insiders are reporting that Jessica gives a terrible performance in the film. Also in the film are Luke Wilson, Willie Nelson and Rachel Leigh Cook; perhaps their performances will help to boost the film. Besides Jessica, the movie has one more cast member who is notorious for bad performances, Andy Dick.

Jessica may not have taken the film very seriously. Those who worked on the set are spilling that Jessica flubbed her lines a lot and was not very focused. She always brought her dog to the set and would become distracted from her work and play with her pet. During filming Jessica was dating John Mayer. She was often on her cell phone talking to him while sitting in a warmed up SUV. It is ironic (or maybe tragic) that Jessica stars in a movie that has the word 'ambition' in the title and the problem with the film is that Jessica has none.

"Blonde Ambition" is a loose remake of the 1988 hit comedy "Working Girl". Jessica will be playing a naïve girl who ventured out into the corporate world after getting dumped by her boyfriend. She unknowingly becomes the pawn of two unscrupulous business executives (Andy Dick is one of them) who are seeking to topple and replace the head of an international conglomerate. This particular role doesn't sound as though it would be out of the acting range for Jessica. A dim blonde who stumbles into fame sounds like a suitable enough role for her. If the reports are true about her lack of focus and numerous distractions, then it is no wonder that even Papa Joe doesn't want to release the film; it is centered around her character. Any movie that casts Andy Dick to play a business executive is bound to be doomed anyway. Moviegoers way want to save their cash instead of seeing "Blonde Ambition" in the theaters. That is, of course, if the movie ever gets a solid release date. For the time being "Blonde Ambition" has been pulled from its August release and has not found a new date. Apparently Joe Simpson is looking for another calendar date that will make the movie suck less.
