We're living in a time where everyone wants to do his or her own thing. No one wants to be told that they're doing something the wrong way. In recent times a lot of people, including preachers in America, have shied away from telling people what they need to, hear, and have begun to tell them what they want to hear instead.
The Bible has already warned us in the book of Timothy that in the last days many people are going to depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. This same chapter also warns that they will begin to heap to themselves people who will only tell them what they want to hear. The Bible also deals us a strong warning that we should depart from those types of people.
Jesus makes a bold statement in the book of John by the telling the people that he is the way, the truth, and the life. What he was telling us in no certain terms is that he is the only way for a fallen man to return to a proper relationship with God. This is completely contrary to what you may hear on the news, radio, or television in today's Times. As a matter of fact, one of the more popular catechisms of the day is that we are all traveling on the road to meet God, we are just taking different paths. This is one of the greatest lies that has ever been told.
This statement contradicts the Bible 100%, because Jesus told us in a certain one section of Scripture that we should strive to enter in at the strait gate, because broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many that will find it. He then went on to say that narrow was the way that leads to life eternal, and that there will be few who will be able to find it.
Therefore, the question that you should be asking as yourself is; am I on the right path to find God? One of the greatest deceptions of the enemy in our day and time is to lead us to think that we can approach God in any manner that we want to. The Bible lets us know however, that the only way that we can see God, and know him, is through the shed blood of his son, Jesus Christ. If we think that we can approach God in any other, way we are simply deceiving as sales.
Jesus made the statement in the Bible that there will be many people who would come to him in the last days and say; Lord, Lord we have done many great works in your name. He responded to them by saying depart from me, you evil workers of iniquity, for I never knew you. It is going to be a sad day when many people finally get to see God face-to-face, and he has to tell them to depart from his presence, because he never knew them?
By now you are probably asking yourself how can I know God? The Bible lets us know that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. Therefore, in order to know God, the first requirement is that we acknowledge that we need him, and that we are lost without him. Once we come to that realization, we will understand just how important it is to have God in our lives. Therefore, in closing, the easy way to know God is to ask him to come into your life, and reveal himself to you. The Bible lets us know that if we do this, he will hear from heaven and answer our prayers.
