"Jesus Taught Me" Video on YouTube Apparently Shows Brutal Beating and Murder of a Man 25 Years Ago
YouTube Video Spreading like Wildfire Across the Internet Shows Apparent Homicide
The video which is six minutes and nineteen seconds long takes place in a Karate dojo on December 13th, 1984 around 7 pm according to the video. In the beginning of the video is seen a young man probably in his late teens or early twenties who is speaking to a Karate Sensei by the name of Bobby Blythe. The young man is attempting to demonstrate for Mr. Blythe as well as several other individuals, the "spiritual movements taught to him by Jesus Christ." In the beginning of the video, Mr. Blythe can be seen explaining to his students in a seemingly mocking and sarcastic nature, the reason for the young man's visit to the dojo. The young man, whose identity is unknown, explains to Mr. Blythe as well as a Willie J. Dennis that he will demonstrate some of the "movements" he has been taught by Jesus. The young man clearly states that he isn't interested in sparring with Mr. Dennis, an ex-marine and black belt in Karate but merely wants to demonstrate some "Katas" or choreographed patterns of movements he has learned.
Before he can demonstrate the Kata, Mr. Dennis completely unprovoked, violently and unexpectedly strikes the young man in the inner thigh/ groin region with a vicious kick. The young man then instinctively defends himself via the martial arts that he himself knows but stays on the defensive. At the 3:11 mark, the young man after defending a barrage of strikes from Mr. Dennis, asks him not to "do that anymore". Judging by the young man's behavior and remarks, he seems not to understand the danger that he is in and misconstrues Mr. Dennis attack as a simple sparring session. While Mr. Dennis is attacking him, he simply defends the attack while seemingly praising Mr. Dennis for his ability as if they were sparring. It is obvious though that Mr. Dennis isn't sparring and is actually trying to do physical harm. The young man then reiterates to Mr. Dennis not to "do that anymore" and then proclaims that he is "not a fighter" before attempting to initiate one of his "Katas". This causes Mr. Dennis to attack him again, this time striking and kicking the young man several times before slipping to the ground.
The two continue to exchange blows, with the young man's blows obviously defensive in nature and restrained whereas Mr. Dennis' blows are aggressive and full force. The young man is very strong and talented, able to stand toe to toe with Mr. Dennis without using much of his ability and only using defensive techniques, something that appears to frustrate Mr. Dennis, causing Mr. Dennis to go into a rage where he pushes the young man into a wall, striking him repeatedly before knocking him to the ground and brutally striking him in the face repeatedly while yelling expletives. Amazingly, the young man recuperates rather quickly before telling Mr. Dennis that "he is very good". The young man, whose shirt is now torn, still is apparently oblivious to the fact that Mr. Dennis is really trying to hurt him. The two begin to tussle before Mr. Dennis forces him up against a wall and grabs his leg. The young man repeatedly states "you got it", an obvious attempt to tell Mr. Dennis to quit attacking him and a sign of submission. Mr. Dennis then strikes the defenseless man in the face, knocking him to the ground and then kicks the man in the head several times before finally kneeing him in the face so hard that it knocks the man's head into a nearby metal pole with such force that the collision can be heard clearly on the video. This seemingly incapacitates the man as he stops defending himself all together and just lies on the floor as Mr. Dennis continues to savagely kick the man in the head before landing two more full force heel stomps to the man's temple. He only stops the brutal beating when the bystanders restrain him.
At this point, the young man's face is bleeding profusely and a puddle of blood is forming on the ground next to his head. He attempts to move his arm slowly and can be heard clearly gasping for air as he lay on the ground with potential skull fractures and a broken neck. The young man is obviously in dire need of serious medical attention and once Mr. Blythe realizes he had just witnessed a potential murder, Mr. Blythe can then be heard coldly telling the other students to "drag him out the back door", which one of the students hurriedly does as the camera follows him and shows the man's lifeless body being drug some fifteen to twenty feet across the dojo floor to the back door. The last minute of the video shows Mr. Blythe eerily and unremorsefully describing the trail of blood that streaks across the floor. He sarcastically describes it as the trail of blood from the "kung fu master as he is departing my dojo". He then clearly states that the video was taken on "the 13th of December, 1984 around 7pm" before showing the ground outside where the young man's body was drug. He then zooms in on the blood on the back door before the video ends.
Upon watching this video, I was completely stunned and had a nauseating feeling in my stomach as I came to grips with the possibility that I might have just witnessed the murder of an innocent man. Although the senseless annihilation of life I just witnessed was cause enough for the sick feeling in my stomach, the fact that at least four other people stood there and watched as a highly trained martial artist and marine completely decimated a mentally challenged young man without stopping him or coming to the aid of the young man as he lie there with his life slowly slipping away. How could someone be so heartless, I asked myself as I sat there unable to function. How could someone stand there and watch a defenseless man be slaughtered in front of their very eyes. After watching the video, I sat there in complete awe at what had just transpired before me. The final death blows dealt by Mr. Dennis were the ones that completely took my death away, causing me to grimace as a full grown man, in a fit of rage, obliterated that young man, pounding his skull into the hard floor, and then calmly walked away as if nothing had happened. I then rushed to Google in an attempt to discover whether or not this video was a hoax as in this day and age of Photoshop and other image altering software anything is possible.
The video was posted less than 24 hours before so there wasn't much to go by except one news report that interestingly enough was posted by the same user. I then replayed the video again and again, analyzing each second of it in order to try to determine its authenticity. I thought that it had to be a hoax as I couldn't fathom how anyone, let alone several people, could stand there and watch the horror that was taking place without any emotion whatsoever. After forcing myself to watch it a few times I came to the conclusion that unfortunately, it appears as if the video is in fact real. The video claims to have been shot in 1984 and the video quality, clothing worn, surrounding décor, verbal expressions used, and other determining factors seem to back this up. It appears to me as if this young man was apparently set up as the demeanor of Mr. Blythe, with his sarcastic comments, the unexpected rage followed by a calm demeanor exhibited by Mr. Dennis, the behavior of the students who stood there and watched this young man be brutally murdered and the presence of the video recorder all seemed to coalesce to the conclusion that this man was lured into the dojo for the very purpose of murdering him.
The video sparked many questions as well as emotions as after doing a little research I found out that the user who uploaded the video, seemingly created their account for the very purpose of showing this video to the world. The user had very creatively utilized a media forum in a way never before conceived. The account was created the same day the video was posted and the only other video posted is of a newscast from the town in which the attack supposedly took place. In this second video, more details arise such as the fact that the local, state, federal, and military authorities are all investigating this video as apparent evidence to an alleged homicide. The video goes on to state that all parties shown on the video are potential accessories to murder due to their lack of preventing this from occurring. Furthermore, the description of the video posted by the user, states the following:
"This video was recorded on Dec 13, 84 at 7 P.M. The victim came to teach, not to fight. The student of Mr. Blythe is Willie J. Dennis. Both are ex-Marines. Mr. Dennis kicks at the victim's groin area, the victim strikes back, not to fight, but to tell Mr. Dennis to not do that. The student continues to taunt and attack, so the victim had to defend himself. Mr. Dennis is knocked to the ground, and there things get more serious.
The instructor, Mr. Blythe, did nothing to stop the fight.
So he could be held just as accountable. If this young man died, and I think he did, the student and Mr. Blythe need to be arrested and the victim needs to have justice.
The blood of this young man is on their hands and the hands of those in the room that did nothing to intervene.
The disregard for human life is shown clearly by the actions of the student and instructor.
Supposedly Mr. Blythe has 'friends' with Virginia police. And so nothing ever happened. If this is true, it escapes me how such people can be traitors to this nation ( if they hid this, they are), and go on wearing the badge.
It is my hope that true police officers will do their job to see that this young man has justice. He came not to harm, but to teach. It is said he was mentally retarded, but to me the instructor and student are the one's mentally retarded. Please, let's be a voice for this young man."
Whoever Naturelove1893, the user who uploaded the two videos, is, it seems as if he or she were somehow connected to the video as the description is a plea for justice for the young man. One has to wonder why it took a quarter of a century for this video to come to light and furthermore why it came to light and how. The video would have had to have been transferred from the primitive format it was recorded on into a suitable format to be viewed on YouTube. Someone obviously went to great lengths to make sure this video was seen. Maybe the user was right and Mr. Blythe was connected to corrupt police officers.
Maybe the reason why the user chose this method to release this evidence was because the police were ignoring it. However the unknown person came to possess the video, they decided that the best way to make sure justice is served was to post the video for all to see and that is exactly what is occurring as the news of the video is spreading like wildfire. The ability to post comments was disabled, so I highly doubt the user posted it for amusement or any other reason than to see that justice is served. This video is a homicide detectives dream as it offers blatant proof of not only a potential homicide but also several instances of accessory to murder, tampering with evidence, tampering with a crime scene, improper disposal of a body, etc... and with Mr. Blythe himself giving the police more clues such as the time and date of the video, it shouldn't be too hard for police to pinpoint potential missing persons from the time of this video in order to ascertain the identity of the victim.
Even in a society where we see extreme amounts of violence portrayed daily via television, movies, and music, this video sent chills down my spine as I knew that it wasn't just some actor portraying a role, it was an actual person who was being savagely beaten and possibly murdered. I instinctively wanted to jump into the computer monitor and come to the aid of this young man and stop his torture but could only sit there helpless as I watched a man lose his life as uncivilized people stood there and watched this man being butchered. This goes to show that although our society has been desensitized to an extent, we still have the ability to distinguish fake violence from real violence. I applaud NatureLove1893 for his or her noble efforts as well as creative thinking and hope that this video leads to the arrest and prosecution of all parties involved.

Dont believe everything you see on the Internet. Make sure you check the sources and info before you start pointing fingers for murder. It is a very serious accusation. Being young and naive these things will happen.
ok, so Im tired of coping and pasting now. You can better read the article in our home town news paper here. http://www2.insidenova.com/isn/news/local/article/1984_beating_video_hits_internet/41980/
Here is an article on the incident, void of any unsubstantiated inferences, speculations or conjectures. It gives only the KNOWN facts of the incident, STATES some of the theories circulating, and DISPROVES some of the theories that hold no water i.e. that KFG claimed he was taught by Jesus and therefore was mentally challenged. The dojo was in the Dumfries Shopping Center, near where the Dumfries Neighborhood Library is now located. Blythe may now be living in Hanford, Calif.
The police chief in that city told television reporters there that he is looking into the case, but did not return calls from the News & Messenger.
A court records check did not uncover any criminal charges for Blythe in Prince William, but some veteran county detectives said he may have been imprisoned on federal charges. An FBI spokeswoman did not return calls for comment.
A search of the Potomac News archives for information about the beating proved unsuccessful. An archival search of the Manassas Journal Messenger also yielded no information about the case.
Many on the martial arts forum claim Blythe is an ex-Marine who served in the Vietnam War. A recent photo of him, taken in 2007, now shows him to be in his mid- to late 60s.
YouTube and Facebook accounts which were registered to a Bobby Joe Blythe now show as being
There are hundreds of posts about the video on one martial arts board alone. The brutality of the beating caused many to speculate that the victim was murdered. But local police say that's not the case.
"Everybody seems to remember this place and everybody seems to remember Bobby Joe Blythe, but nobody can seem to remember who took the lead on the case or whether it was ever investigated," said Dumfries police Capt. Ronald Mackey.
Since the video hit the Web, the department has received phone calls from concerned citizens who have seen it on the Internet, and from national news organizations looking to investigate.
Mackey said officers recalled helping the victim out of out of a Dumpster near the dojo, and said many remember that the man walked away from the incident.
"It was definitely not a homicide," said Mackey.
If there was an original incident report, it was destroyed years ago, a common practice for old paperwork, he said. But to be sure, Mackey checked with the c

Dumfries investigators are looking into the vicious beating of a man caught on tape nearly 25 years ago.
The disturbing 1984 video, which surfaced on the Web in recent weeks, shows a man engaged in a fight at a Dumfries martial arts dojo. At first, the man appears to be standing his ground against his opponent. But toward the end, he is knocked down and repeatedly kicked in the head.
Before falling to the ground, the man clearly motions to his opponent and tells spectators that he wants the fight to stop. But he is ignored and seconds later is on the floor bleeding.
Then a voice is heard on the video ordering those watching the fight to drag the battered and bleeding man out of the back of the building. The same voice, identified on the Web as Bobby Joe Blythe, owner of the dojo, can later be heard on the video noting the day the incident took place: Dec. 13, 1984.
Nearly 25 years later, the video resurfaced on YouTube and went viral. There are
I am a member of Bullshido and in the process of gathering all of the info from the 150 plus pages of posts about the incident. When the article was written none of this info was available. Although there were a "few" posts about the video, none of the info uncovered on Bullshido was available yet. Also, the identity of the victim is still unknown so I don't knwo where you got that inclination. In fact , I commend the other members of Bullshido on the fantastic job they are doing as only a few reputable news sources have picked up the incident. Rest assured, within 24 hours I will have a follow up article that is far superior informatively than its predecessor. The initial article was literally written at 1 am immediately following my viewing of the video.
Your investigative reporting leaves much to be desired. A simple Google search of "Bobby Joe Blythe" would have revealed several threads with dozens of pages of info on this incident, including how the video initially became available (Blythe's own doing), many more Blythe demo videos, his home address and phone numbers, possible identity of the victim, many photos of Blythe throughout his life, the fact that multiple authorities have been notified, etc, etc.. The Bullshido thread in the first comment is a good place to start.
Tyson, you have really impressed me! Somehow, I saw this video hours after it posted and I had the EXACT same reaction. I sat in a meeting the next day and had an anxiety attack as I flashed back to the video. Three medics said he lived no more than 5 minutes. You are intelligent, brave and compassionate. Thank you for using your gift of communication to draw more attention to this murder. When you speak out, you will have evil people and fools try to discourage you, please do not take it to heart, it always happens to anyone doing good, ask Jesus.
Again, no way was this a hoax and not a murder. I wonder how much more of this stuff this sociopath has done. Maybe the war made him a monster but he is one. I heard Willie is facing a court date for assault in FL.
