Consumer Tips for Purchasing Cheap Tickets from JetBlue

At time of publication, the JetBlue website at www.jetblue.com/deals/samplesale/ is overloaded with web traffic and it can take several minutes for the site to load. Travelers who want to learn about flights available from their nearest city can call Jet Blue Airlines directly at 1-800-JETBLUE and speak with a travel booking specialist for the latest availability and rates.

Jet Blue airlines is offering many attractive fares for the key destinations around the country, especially for last-minute Spring Break travelers. However, there is some fine print to consider when booking these fares. Seats are limited on all of these flights, and are one-way, nonrefundable, and nontransferable.

Cancellations on these tickets run a hefty fee of $100 per person, and the ticket is refunded in the form of a travel credit. Jet Blue airlines also imposes several surcharges and fees on each ticket; this includes Passenger Facility Charges up to $9 each way; September 11th Security Fees up to $5 each way; and Federal Segment Taxes of $3.60 per domestic segment. If you are planning to fly outside of the country, you can expect to pay government fees and taxes of up to $127.60 each way, and additional taxes and charges for baggage.

More JetBlue Travel Incentives

Bargain hunters may choose to forgo the $29 airfare sale for other specials and discounts that JetBlue released this past week. Tickets for hundreds of other destinations are now available for under $100 each way from select cities.

JetBlue has also recently extended its JetBlue Promise that refunds the cost of a flight for any traveler who has lost their job. Travelers who have involuntarily lost their job but had confirmed reservations on the schedule may qualify for a full refund through the JetBlue Promise program. Details about the program can be found on The JetBlue Promise page.

I agree with Carol's comment. Wish more businesses had that kind of compassion.

I love that JetBlue will refund airfare to those that lose their jobs. That is the type of compassion all businesses should practice.

Great to know. Now if only they had a way to make a preschooler behave while on a two hour flight..... :-)
