Game Background
You're on the moon in prison in the year 2055. Luckily stumbling upon a jetpack, you try to make your escape.
Game Controls
To start flying upwards, hold down the left and right arrow keys. Use the left arrow key to move left and the right arrow key to move right.
Gameplay
The game is pretty simple. Just fly upwards while avoiding obstacles to escape prison. You get multiple tries.
After each try, or failure, you get a summary report of your last effort. You get details on:
-flight distance in meters
-any bonus cash collected
-the amount of cash you earned from the last attempt
-your total cash
-total earned
After each attempt, you get a chance to upgrade your jetpack. You can upgrade:
-nozzle design: improving nozzle design will improve the efficiency of your trust using the same amount of fuel
-steering: improving the steering of your jetpack will allow you to fly further because of inertial forces
-fuel pressure: increasing fuel pressure allows you to store more fuel in your jetpack
You can also buy equipment to improve your jetpack:
-antigravity coil: reduces gravity but consumes large amount of fuel
-extra fuel tanks: stores more fuel and can get you more distance
-gap radar: leads the way so you don't waste fuel wondering which direction to fly
During your flight, you will see a few different items that you can get to help you in your journey
-cash bonus
-fuel bonus
-kick bonus
As you continue flying upwards, you will pick up speed, making it somewhat harder to avoid obstacles. Bumping into obstacles will slow you down considerably, so try to avoid hitting anything other than upgrades.
After each failure, you restart your journey upwards. The flight is different each time, so don't bother trying to remember which way to fly.
Review
Jetpack Jailbreak is an entertaining game and great for short work breaks. It doesn't take long to play and has a very solid, simple concept. The many upgrades are a plus, as it adds replay value to the game. The goal of the game is also interesting, as it keeps players wondering how far you have to fly until you reach the end of the game, and what is actually at the end of the flight.
Jetpack Jailbreak scores a 9/10 for being a sweet and simple game. More graphics and a more interesting story line would make this game perfect.
