Jets Vs. Bengals Game Time Begins Wild Card Weekend
The New York Jets and Cincinnati Bengals Play the First AFC Playoff Game on Saturday
The New York Jets come in to this game as the first wild card holder in the AFC, and posted a 9-7 overall record during the 2009 NFL season. Some say that they "lucked" into their playoff spot by getting to play Indianapolis and Cincinnati in their final two games when neither opponent had anything left to play for. Either way, New York is in the playoffs and ready to prove that they belong in the wild card round of these playoffs. The Cincinnati Bengals won the AFC North this season with a 10-6 overall record, out-playing both Baltimore and Pittsburgh when it counted the most, and gaining home field advantage in the first round for their troubles. They will need to enjoy this home game, because it could be their last whether they win or lose.
There are quite a few intriguing story lines about this Jets vs. Bengals game, including the fact that both starting quarterbacks are products of the USC Trojans. Carson Palmer is now the veteran quarterback for Cincinnati, looking to finally get his team to the Super Bowl they have craved since he started taking the snaps. Mark Sanchez is the rookie quarterback working for New York, the guy analysts said couldn't lead them to the playoffs, and now the quarterback who is supposed to fall flat in the first round. Both teams have something to prove, and that makes this opening game even more interesting.
Jets vs. Bengals start time is 1:30 P.M. PST (4:30 P.M. EST) on NBC.
