Jets Vs Bengals Score Sends Jets to Second Round
The Jets vs Bengals score was hardly as lopsided as last week. However, the Jets vs Bengals score was the same where it counted, due to New York's 24-14 triumph. Although Cincinnati got more points this time, they still couldn't overpower the New York defense, or remotely stop their running game. This time, New York beat a team that played their starters the whole way, as the Jets vs Bengals score allowed their improbable run to continue.

The Bengals had things go their way early, with two big kick returns in the first quarter. Though their first drive ended with a Laveranues Cole fumble, he redeemed himself with a touchdown on the next drive. Yet aside from Cedric Benson, Cincinnati's offensive stars were shut down and hurt the rest of the way.

The Jets vs Bengals score was driven by the New York running game and defense, which has run the show all year. Rookie Shonn Green led the way with 135 yards, and a 39-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Mark Sanchez not only played mistake free football, he got a few big strikes, including a 45-yard touchdown pass to Dustin Keller. Kicker Jay Feely even stepped in with a solid punting game, after punter Steve Weatherford fell ill.

The third quarter was quite eventful, starting when two straight penalties wiped out two Feely field goals, forcing a punt. But on the subsequent Bengals drive, Shayne Graham missed a 35-yard field goal, then the Jets drove down the field for a Thomas Jones touchdown. From then on, the Jets vs Bengals score had Cincinnati playing catchup.

Benson did his part, rushing for 169 yards and a 47-yard fourth quarter touchdown. But Sanchez, Green and Keller then moved New York down the field again, resulting in a Feely chip shot. Once Graham missed another short field goal, the Jets were on to the next round.

For all of the worries about Sanchez, he had an accurate 12-for-15 night, while Carson Palmer faltered in his first full playoff game. However, Chad Ochochino was once again shut down by Darrelle Revis, and Coles and Andre Caldwell were banged up the entire game. The runners for both teams dominated, but the Jets got a few more defensive stops, and better kicking in more ways than one.

With the Jets vs Bengals score, Cincinnati closes a surprising but heartbreaking season in which Chris Henry died, and a 9-3 start was wasted. As for New York, their shocking late run now includes their first playoff win in five years. Rex Ryan's prediction of a Super Bowl title is still alive, for at least one more week.

The Jets won their way, although the Bengals were not in sync, and the night was littered with penalties on both sides. In the end, the Jets vs Bengals score silenced some of New York's critics - though they will still be very big underdogs next week.

If the Patriots beat the Ravens tomorrow, then New York gets another shot at Indianapolis on Saturday night. Since the Colts all but handed the Jets a win three weeks ago, they're both likely to want a rematch, for different reasons. But if the Ravens win, then the Jets visit the red hot Chargers on Sunday afternoon.
