A year later, the coach and his team are featured on Hard Knocks on HBO. Though he's criticized for his proclivity for foul language, anyone watching Ryan is entertained. He's a bigger then life figure. In contrast, Bill Belichick is the stone faced Patriots coach, Batman to Ryan's Joker.
It'll be entertaining when these two teams meet week two, in New York. The divisional game will feature lots of interesting match-ups; Belichick vs. Ryan, Moss vs. Revis (if he hurries up and signs), Mark Sanchez vs. the Patriots defense. Even the coaches hand shake after the game has the potential for excitement.
While a game in week two can't be seen as vital, with so much football remaining, the winner of this game can set a tone for their season. The Jets begin the year with, three tough games, against the Ravens, Patriots, and Dolphins, talk about hard knocks. While the Patriots face, the Bengals, Jets, and Bills during the same period. With two division games for both teams in the first three weeks, it'll be important for both to get off to a good start.
There's no denying Coach Rex Ryan has transformed the Jets into one of the elite teams in the AFC, while the Patriots continue to position themselves on top of their division. The AFC East should theoretically be one of the most competitive divisions in the league, with the Jets, Patriots, and Dolphins all battling for the top spot. While the Bills, are once again, searching for a way to stay relevant.
The New York Jets are a young, hungry team, ready to regularly supplant the New England Patriots from their perch on top of the AFC East. The teams have different styles, and personalities, and it's great, and expected, they don't like each other. The games between these teams will feature good play on the field, and great quotes off it. I've got my popcorn ready.
