Atmosphere
JG's Old Fashioned Hamburger's is nestled in the corner of a small brick strip mall. You'll notice it immediately with the bright green and yellow awning that covers the patio. There is seating beneath the awning.
Inside of JG's Old Fashioned Hamburgers, the atmosphere and décor is a combination of a saloon, old western eating house, and a modern day sports bar. There are classic advertisements posters and signs from the 1950's and earlier; old black and white photos in antique frames, saddles, rusted brass horns, and light up beer and cola signs. The walls and floors are wood planks.
Although JG's Old Fashioned Hamburger's isn't a large restaurant, there is ample seating both inside and outside.
Menu and Pricing
When you walk through the door you'll notice a large black board hanging from the ceiling with a decent amount of menu options. As the name suggests, JG's is a burger place and that's what it's famous for. But there are other things on the menu like Chicken sandwiches, fries, cheese fries, and milk shakes.
On my visit to JG's Old Fashioned Burgers, I ordered the burger basket, which included a cheese burger, French fries, and a soft drink. At the time I was there I paid about $7.25 for the Burger Basket.
We were given a number and got our drinks while we waited for our burger and French fries. You have the option of getting a fountain drink or a soda in a bottle, which are kept ice cold in a large tin tub filled with ice.
We waited about 25 - 30 minutes for our burger and fries, which is a little long, but JG's is such a popular local place, there are almost always a lot of people dining there.
Our number was called and we went to the counter to get our food. The burgers are served with just the buns, meat, and cheese. There is a bar with all of the toppings for you to put on your burger, so you can choose what and how much goes on your burger.
The burgers were huge as was the basket of fries. It was more food than I could finish, but it was great. The burgers were cooked just right, and were nice and juicy. The buns were toasted, and the fries were amazing.
The price Range at JG's Old Fashioned Hamburgers is about $4 - $10.
Service
There isn't all that much service at JG's Old Fashioned Hamburgers, since everything besides placing your order is self serve.
From what I could tell of the cooks, they worked very efficiently at getting everyone's food done and served to them in a timely manner.
Overall Impression of JG's Old Fashioned Hamburgers
The food was ample and tasted great. It's quite crowded there sometimes, since it's such a popular place, so sometimes the wait can be up to 30 minutes. But overall, it's a great place and I can't think of a better place to go if you're in the mood for a good old fashioned hamburger.
