Jheri Redding Stylers Alcohol-Free Straightening Gel Review

I have tried so many products because I do not like my frizzy hair. My hair is very thick and is hard to manage. My hair is also very wavy, but most of the time you can't tell because of how frizzy it is. I have used hair gel many times in an attempt to tame my frizz, but many of the gels make my hair very stiff. I have always tried to find a product that would control the frizz, but not make my hair pokey like a twig. I want a flexible holding gel. I bought Jheri Redding Stylers Alcohol-Free Straightening Gel to get some control on my hair and possibly be able to wear it straight for a change.

I bought this gel at Wal-Mart and decided to give it a try. I washed my hair with an everyday shampoo; this is before I had found a frizz control shampoo that worked. I then towel dried my hair as the bottle of gel instructed. I then comb the gel through my hair. This is to make the gel throughout the hair evenly. I then let it set for five minutes like the bottle suggested. After this you are supposed to style the hair like you normally would. I just wanted to wear my hair down and see how the product worked that way.

There are many things that I do not like about this product. First of all when I applied the product I noticed that the gel was clumpy. It acted like it had hard pieces in it that caused clumps to be in my hair. The second is that when this gel dries it does make your hair very stiff! Then if you try to brush the stiffness out, your hair just frizzes up. Also even though the bottle says the gel has no alcohol in it, it smells like it does.

This is not a product that I suggest because it does not work to straighten or defrizz your hair. It can defrizz your hair, but it will look like you have twigs for hair because the strands of hair are not flexible. I will never buy this product again. There are two good things that I do see on the package. It is made in the United States and it is not tested on animals. With that being said, they need to work on this product because it is too clumpy and makes your hair way too stiff.
