ABOUT THE AUTHOR

J.I. Soucie grew up in a country setting upstate New York. Growing up she enjoyed horseback riding, crafts, reading, playing sports and practicing gymnastics. She has always enjoyed writing though never seriously thought of it as a career until 1999.

Today she continues to evolve as a writer and has advanced from poetry, short stories and lyrics into the more challenging work of creating novels. She has also ventured into the business of freelance writing and has started her own freelance writing and desktop publishing business, New England Expressions, LLC.

She has had eight poems published in the past seven years in chapbooks and magazines. She has had a poetry and lyric book, A Breeze of Whispers I, published in March of 2006, and several articles published by AssociatedContent.com in 2006.

She attended Sackets Harbor Central School from 1986-1998. She finished out her high school years through a home-school program, Reformer's Christian Academy. She then took a distance-learning course through Harcourt Learning Direct in Scranton, PA and received a Freelance Writing degree in 2001.

In her free time, Janis enjoys reading, crafts, outdoor activities such as horseback riding, canoeing, fishing and hiking. She likes to listen to all kinds of music and enjoys television shows such as CSI, Ghost Whisperer, NCIS, and Survivor. She takes part in surveying the weather and is a certified SKYWARN Spotter.
