Jiffy Blueberry Muffin Mix; Consumer Product Review

Jiffy Has Brought Quality and Value Since 1930

Janet Roof
Jiffy has brought quality and value since 1930. They are well known for their quick flower based mixes and all their products are made in Chelsea Michigan. America's Favorite is their claim and compare and save is their motto.

Each package is 3 x 1 ¾ x 5 ½ inches; it contains 7 oz. (198 g) of product. The ingredients you will need to create the batter are one Egg and ¼ cup of Milk.

They provide a recipe on the side of the packaging for Blueberry Coffee Cake. If you desire to use this recipe you will require melted shortening for the mix and for the topping, Brown Sugar, Chopped Nuts, Cinnamon and Butter.

If you would like to use the Blueberry Muffin Mix for pancakes or waffles you don't need to change the recipe at all. All you do is cook according to the directions on the box, they provide the recipe for them as well and they taste just wonderful.

The actual blueberries in the mix are not actual at all, they are imitation but they suit this mix just fine and have a sweet flavor that mimics a natural blueberry. Remember you can always add the real thing if you like. Cooking is an extension of yourself so add anything you desire.

As you open the package with the perforated tear away box top, you reveal the waxed paper package within the package, this is intended to keep the mix dry and it works great even in humid conditions. The mix is light and fluffy but as you pour it into a mixing bowl it contains itself by not allowing any particles to go airborne.

Because the mix is only 7 oz. (198 g) you don't need a large bowl to mix it nor do you require an electric mixer so clean up is a snap.

If you create average sized muffins in a standard muffin baking tin you will get about 5 muffins, if you use mini muffin baking tins to create your muffins you will get about 15 muffins from one box. If you don't have any baking tins at all you can purchase paper baking cups or they even sell foil baking cups. These are great for a no mess baking experience, all you will need to use these is a flat pan to place them on and most kitchens have one of these.

If you are using a muffin baking tin I suggest you grease them liberally, if you don't you will have a difficult time releasing your fully cooked muffins from their tin. If this happens, use a spoon to work your way around each muffin to release them from the tin.

If you are using paper or foil baking cups there is no need to grease at all.

The scent of blueberries will fill the air as you bake them in the oven and when you have cooled your creation you will discover just how delicious these fresh baked treats are. As you take your first bite, the texture is soft and spongy; the berries are sweet and delicious.

For the time and the money, these are a real treat and everyone will agree they are delicious and satisfying. These delight take under 30 minutes from package to plate and are well worth the effort.

The serving size is 14 cup (38 g / 1.3oz.) there are roughly 5 servings per container. When the product is baked there are 160 Calories, the Calories from Fat are only 60.
