Jill Clayburgh was one of my favorites. I particularly loved Starting Over. I feel sad that she is gone. She started her career on Broadway in Pippin. From there she moved to the big screen where she stared in movies such as An Unmarried Woman and Starting Over. She was nominated for Academy Awards for best actress in both movies. Who could forget her in Silver Streak with Gene Wilder in 1976?
She was also nominated for two Emmy Awards for the movie Hustling and a guest appearance on Nip-Tuck. Her recent role was playing Ally McBeal's mother in Dirty Sexy Money. She will appear in a movie coming out in a few weeks called Love and Other Drugs.
Her husband is playwright David Rabe and her daughter Lily Rabe is a Broadway actress. She also has a stepson Michael.
Goodbye Jill, you will be missed.
Jill Clayburgh is just one of the many stars and celebs we lost this year including:
James McArthur of Hawaii 5-0
Tom Bosley best remembered for Happy Days
Barbara Billingsly of Leave it to Beaver
