Jilly the Zhu Zhu Pet Hamster : This Years Sought After Zhu Zhu Pet?

She May Be a Fashionista Hamster

Mary Martin
Jilly is a new addition to the Zhu Zhu Pets line of toys. Jilly caught my eye as I was leaving Toys R Us and I had to back up to get a better view as my husband walked unknowingly towards the exit. We had purchased birthday gifts for two grandsons and he thought we were leaving the store. Leaving was my plan also until I spotted Jilly.

Last year I was involved in the Christmas Zhu Zhu Pets shopping frenzy along with many, many other grandmothers, moms, aunts, dads, uncles, and so many more. This year I knew when I spotted Jilly that I was going to want to purchase her now before the shopping rush began. There was only one Jilly available and I was not going to pass it up.

Luckily my husband noticed that I was not with him before he got too close to the door. He came back to find me and knew immediately what I was doing. Well he noticed that I had stopped in front of the Zhu Zhu Pets display and he was well aware of the difficulties I had had finding the Zhu Zhu toys last year. I showed him Jilly and he knew we were not finished shopping yet.

Jilly is a pink and white hamster with a pink nose. She is wearing a clip on pink tulle dress and a tiara too. How cute is that? She looks quite frilly and ready to wow the other residents of Hamster City.

Then I noticed the baby hamsters. Then I noticed the stroller. Soon I noticed that Jilly also came in the packaged set of Jilly and a stroller for two baby hamsters. In the package with the stroller Jilly does not have her clip on pink tulle dress or clip on tiara. I guess when you are pushing a stroller with two baby hamsters you just don't' dress the same.

Of course I purchased Jilly (the one with the pink tulle dress and tiara) for $14.99 at Toys R Us. I considered the stroller package but then there was the pink tulle dress and the tiara!

After we left the store a quick phone call to my daughter assured me that Jilly would indeed make a great gift for our granddaughter. I knew it. Whew! What if I had walked right by Jilly. The thought was frightening. I don't know if Jilly is going to be difficult to find later but I was glad that I noticed her. Of course I did purchase, Pumpkin, a baby hamster too. Then a week or so later I did purchase another baby hamster named Snickle Fritz. How could I pass up Snickle Fritz!
