Jimmy Buffett, a well known singer and songwriter, has fallen while on stage. Currently he is a patient in a Sydney hospital in stable condition with a head injury. Jimmy Buffett was on a tour in Sydney, Australia, performing at the Opera House when the accident occurred.

Buffett was doing an encore of the song "Lovely Cruise" when he lost his footing and fell off the stage. He fell off the right side of the stage and hit the floor, according to the CNN website. The fall occurred on Jan. 25, 2011. The singer should be released on Jan. 27, 2011, according to his official web site Margaritaville.

The injury Jimmy Buffett sustained was a head injury consisting of a gash to the head. After that gash was repaired, hospital officials admitted him for observation. It is unclear now if he will perform at the Jan. 29, 2011, concert in New Zealand or head home to St. Bart's upon his release from the hospital.

This fall should not limit Buffett from performing at his concerts. He may take a bit of time off to recuperate, but as his fans know, he never allows anything to keep him down for long. He has been performing his songs since the late '60s. Buffett rarely has canceled a concert because of illness.

Other notable rock and pop stars have fallen off the stage when they were performing. Brad Paisley, Pink, and Steven Tyler all simply took a few days off before returning to work.

At 61 years old, Steven Tyler also fell as he was performing on a stage in South Dakota. Igossip reported that the singer was dancing around on stage in August of 2009 to entertain the crowd and fell off the stage. He was performing the hit song "Love in an Elevator" minutes before he fell. He sustained head and neck injuries which have healed.

Brad Paisley fell off the stage at a concert in Charleston in early March 2010, according to the Celebrifi website. He spent a few days in the local hospital and was released. He was back to performing within a few weeks.

Pink, a well known singer, fell while hanging from a harness in a concert in Germany in July 2010. According to a report on the Huffington Post, Pink was texting from the hospital bed to let her fans know she was okay. She was also back to work quickly.
