Jimmy Fallon Hosting the 62nd Emmy Awards and Possible New-Found Fame

WidiWidi
The 62nd Emmy Award show, hosted by Jimmy Fallon on Aug. 29, 2010, was a hit. According to the Los Angeles Times, Jimmy Fallon and all the new young actors nominated for their first Emmy Awards brought out scores of new viewers to the 62nd Emmy Award Show. There was a slight increase of 200,000 additional viewers over last year. This is considered a win, according to the Los Angeles Times, due to prior falling ratings. The props go to Jimmy Fallon, new Emmy nominations, and the lack of programming competition from the other networks.

One of Many; Jimmy Fallon 2010 Emmy Host

Fallon is one of many actor/comedians who have hosted the Emmy Awards Show. Last year, Neil Patrick Harris hosted the show and did a great job at it as well. According to Time, Neil Patrick Harris (NPH) has also hosted the TV Land Awards, the Tony Awards, and is even a regular replacement host on Live with Regis and Kelly. Childhood stardom could have negatively impacted Harris like it has many other actors who find themselves famous at a young age. But I believe the various hosting opportunities Harris has undertaken have provided him the way out of the dreadful childhood stardom syndrome many young actors encounter. It has provided him a way to show the public his real personality and it has given him a new type of fame.

Fallon may possibly attain a new-found stardom because of his recent hosting of the Emmy Awards. I think that many of his late night viewers followed him to the Emmy Awards show, which may account for the increased Emmy Award viewers. He has a way of being overly silly yet entertaining enough to make people of all ages bust out with laughter. He also knows how to drag in many of the sociable sites like Twitter and Facebook to create an interactive environment with his viewers. I think the Emmy show brought this interesting new twist to people in America who do not watch the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and because he did such a great job hosting the show, he could gain new followers.

He practically revamped the show into something new with his comedy and energetic numbers. The award show also presented Fallon to a slew of new viewers who may not have known about him before the award show. If these new viewers find him funny, they might follow him to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. This is the golden ticket to raise his ratings and might even supply him with several new opportunities that will help market his show and talents across Hollywood. We will have to wait and see if he gets another chance at hosting the Emmy Awards. But if he does, we may just see his fame going in an upward spiral like it has been going for Neil Patrick Harris.

Outstanding! Jimmy Fallon excellent host on the 62nd Emmy Awards! I really enjoyed the opening of the show. Was that Jimmy's idea? That was unique and so creative. I did view this show last year because of the selected host, Neil Patrick Harris. And I also viewed the show this year because of Jimmy Fallon.
    Great show Jimmy!

Hey Max! Thanks for your input. I am really happy for Jimmy on this one- he does seem like a good person. AND, what I love about him is that he is so brilliantly smart and lazy at the same time! There are so many other Late Night Hosts that say "follow me on twitter- follow me on Facebook" but, then what?

Jimmy actually takes it a step further and say- "write me a script!" in not those exact words.. lol..and people are more than happy to do it! SO, he actually uses the sociables in a way that makes sense! Bringing people into the shows and their funny comments that some adult comedians may not be able to come up with! Love it! AND, love Betty White! ;-)

    Good points about Jimmy.

I don't watch tv, anything about tv I get through the internet. Ken Levine said nice things about Jimmy Fallon on his blog, so I looked at Youtube.

The opening number with Jimmy and the Glee kids and even Betty White was the best opening to an awards show I've seen.

Moreover, I got the feeling Jimmy Fallon is a nice guy, a good heart, with a lot of talent.

His Emmy awards work put him on my map.

It wouldn't have anything to do with the shows he has done since his childhood stardom. How I Met Your Mother, for example? No, of course it is hosting the emmy's and regis and kelly that has made him famous.
