Jitterbug: A Cell Phone for the "Older Crowd"

Or Is it ?

In today's age of fast moving technology the acquisition of a cell phone is not for the faint at heart. With the abundance of service plans, providers, and highly advanced handsets, choosing the correct cell phone may be daunting. For those that may be older and less able to adapt to changing technology, one company has produced a cell phone that fits their needs. The jitterbug cell phone provides several advantageous features that make it the perfect choice for someone who is unable to use a traditional cell phone.

If you are unable to see this play of a new cell phone, unable to use the compact keypads, or unable to hear complicated ring tones the jitterbug cell phone can solve your problems. The display on the jitterbug cell phone provides numbers and caller ID information that is over five times larger than a traditional cell phone. The keypad provides numbers that are evenly spaced and large enough to be seen by those with the poorest vision. The three programmable buttons on the center of the jitterbug makes it perfect for the younger crowd as well.

Unlike previous generations, many parents do not feel safe with their children being alone outside, especially after dark. It is becoming increasingly common for parents to buy their children a cell phone as a form of emergency communication. It is also becoming increasingly common that these children used their cell phones improperly, excessively, and generate large bills for which their parents are financially responsible. The jitterbug helps solve these problems as well. Parents are able to program the three large buttons on the phone to call specific numbers such as a home, office, or family member only. This list prevents children from using the phone for unintended phone calls.

Many users do not want to be burdened by the costs of signing a cell phone contract. The jitterbug is available in many different plans including a pay per minute feature. Most calling plans include common features such as caller ID, call waiting, and call forwarding. Voicemail is also available for those that want functionality similar to that of a home answering machine.

While most advertising is targeted toward seniors, the jitterbug is an excellent solution for users of any age group. While this phone is not meant to solve everyone's communications requirements, it can be the answer to yours. For more information, contact your local retailer.

I have to say, the issues my mom experienced with her Jitterbug far outweighed its usefulness. I'm glad I was able to find her a new, better phone. We got it from a company called Just 5 and it's the best phone that I've ever seen for seniors. www.just5.com
It has all of the features she needs and none that she doesn't need. Big, easy to press buttons, loud volume, easy to see display, simple navigation through the menus. The SOS button is the best feature by far, in my opinion. You can preprogram up to 4 numbers and when you press the SOS button, the phone automatically dials those numbers until someone answers. I couldn't have asked for a better phone for my mom! Thanks Just 5! Check it out here:
