J.K.Rowling's Mysterious Website Pottermore.Com

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" will finally, at long last, forever and finally, see Harry Potter finally clash with Voldemort and bring the entire thing to an end. Finally, after eight movies. In the words of Papa Lazarou: this is just a saga now.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter presently packing them in at Universal Studios Orlando doesn't appear to be the real end of the world of the young wizard who has survived more run-ins with his nemesis than Batman. On the eve of the final, final, final battle between young Potter and Voldemort comes a mysterious new website from the creator of Hogwarts, Sirius Black, and Luna Lovegood, called - get ready: Pottermore.

Pottermore.com consists of (as of the middle of June) little more than the name of the website situated between a couple of genuinely freaky looking messenger owls that fans of the films will recognize immediately.

Just what does Pottermore.com have to offer? J.K. Rowling is not yet ready to forward any vital information as readily as she proffered the startling news that Dumbledore is gayer than a Scientologist actor vacationing in Key West. What news could Rowling possibly offer to her billions of fans on Pottermore.com that would matter since she has promised that the end of Harry Potter as related in the "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" is the final, final, utter and forever end of everything?

Nobody knows, that's for sure. As of the 39^th anniversary of the Watergate break-in, a YouTube page devoted to Pottermore.com offers no more information other than more owls, the cryptic announcement "The owls are gathering -- Find out why soon" and a countdown clock starting with 5 days. What will happen in a little less than six days from June 17 is anybody's guess.

Fans who have followed the continuing adventures of Harry Potter and friends outwitting the best that Voldemort and his minions have to offer are doubtlessly waiting with breathless anticipation to see what Rowling has in store for them come late June 2011 on Pottermore.com. As if the Pottermore.com website itself and an accompanying YouTube channel weren't enough, there is also a Pottermore Twitter account. And, just in case you thought that J.K. Rowling isn't one of the most business savvy professionals in the world of entertainment, yes, you guessed it, there is also a Pottermore Facebook page.

Truly, Harry Potter's final showdown with one of the ugliest villains in movie history (Ralph Fiennes even managed to look better as Amon Goeth, if you can believe that) won't be the actual, final, genuinely final, utterly final, final, final chapter in the Harry Potter story.

What that actual end may be is anybody's guess. One thing you can be sure of, however: J.K. Rowling is definitely not satisfied with being richer than the Queen of England. And why should she be? At least Rowling has actually done something to earn her riches. Fans of Luna Lovegood, er, I mean Harry Potter - quite possibly the least interesting literary hero to ever star in a series of seven books - need not cry into their milkshakes just yet. The world of wizardry enjoyed by Potter and friends does not look like it is ready to disappear just yet. Check out Pottermore.com by clicking here.
