JK's NFL 2009 Week 3 Picks

John Krutz
Well week 3 of the 2009 NFL season is here and we should be starting to get an idea of the contenders and pretenders. Here are my picks against the spread for week 3.

Tennessee +2.5 at NY Jets
I like the Jets this year, but I really think this is a trap game for them. Tennessee is a great running team and the Jets haven't seen that yet, take Tennessee.

Jacksonville +4 at Houston
Jacksonville has looked bad this year and Houston is at home, take the Texans.

Kansas City +9.5 at Philadelphia
It doesn't really matter if McNabb plays or not KC stinks, I don't like large spreads, but I have to take the Eagles.

Cleveland +13.5 at Baltimore
Another huge spread, but Baltimore defense may cover that spread against the Browns, take the Ravens.

NY Giants -6.5 at Tampa Bay
This is a lock, the Giants are favored by less then a touchdown, bet NY.

Washington -6.5 at Detroit
Believe it or not I am going with the Lions, it's time to break the losing streak.

Green Bay -6.5 at St. Louis
Green Bay had a horrible lose last week, but I think they will rebound nicely, take the Packers.

San Francisco +6.5 at Minnesota
Oddly a great game here, it's at Minnesota and I also think the Vikings shut down the Niners run game, take the Vikings.

Atlanta +4 at New England
Call me crazy, but I am picking Atlanta. New England just doesn't look the same this year.

Chicago -2.5 at Seattle
Chicago is a less then a field goal favorite, take the Bears.

New Orleans -6 at Buffalo
Buffalo just won't be able to keep up with the Saints in this one, take the Saints.

Miami + 6 at San Diego
Miami is coming off a heartbreaker, and I don't think they'll win, but I think they will cover, take the Dolphins.

Pittsburgh -4 at Cincinnati
Look for Pittsburgh to rebound from last week's loss nicely, take the Steelers.

Denver +1 at Oakland
I still think both teams stink, but in basically a pick'em game, I am picking the Broncos.

Indianapolis +2.5 at Arizona
The Colts are bad at run defense, not pass defense and Arizona's strength is the pass. Plus they are getting points, take the Colts.

Carolina +9.5 at Dallas
Dallas will get its first home win in the new stadium, but by 10 points? Yah I'll bet that, take Dallas.

Good luck everybody and check back next week.
