Joann Fabrics IPhone App Review: Get Joann Coupons on Your Phone

Ever get to Joann Fabrics and realize you forgot your coupons at home? Or, do you not own a printer and are unable to print Internet coupons at home? Luckily, if you have an iPhone, you can take advantage of Joann's coupons right from your phone. even if you don't have a paper copy of the coupon. Additionally, the Joann Fabrics iPhone application also has other features for craft shoppers, including showing store locations and viewing items the store carries.

How to get the Joann Fabrics iPhone app?

To find the app, simply visit the iTunes app store and search "Joann."

Joann iPhone App Functionality:

This iPhone app is very basic and looks quite primitive. When you open the Joann Fabrics app, you're greeted by a bunch of stock photos that look like they were lifted from the pages of their flyer. The graphics and layout aren't exactly pretty but, hey, you're probably just using this app for the coupons, so what does it really matter, right?

The Joann Fabrics iPhone app has four different functions:

Coupons: Click on the "coupons" icon to access the current coupons. This lists all of the coupons available to you. For example, right now, there are three coupons available: a coupon for 40% off a regular priced item, a coupon for classes, and a coupon for home décor fabric purchase.

Stores:

Click on "Stores" to bring up the nearest Joann stores to you. The application plots out the Joann stores on a map. Additionally, you can search other locations by entering in the zip code or city/state.

Browse:

This function allows you to browse items that the store carries. This is the downfall of the application, in that you can't view a specific store's inventory, nor do many of the categories work. For example, I clicked on the scrapbooking category and then "Album pages and refills" and nothing came up. Hopefully the developers will expand this feature in the future.

This function tells you the terms and conditions of the app as well as Joann's privacy policy.

How to Use Coupons from the Joann Fabrics iPhone App:

To use the coupons, press the "Coupons" icon. Select the coupon you wish to use by pressing "Save this Coupon to my Wallet." If it's your first time using the "wallet" feature, the app prompts you to enter your mobile phone number.

To access your wallet, click on "Coupons" and then press, "My Wallet." This loads all of your saved coupons. Click on the yellow "Redeem at your local Joann's" button. When you get to the checkout, show the cashier your phone. The cashier will enter the information and you will reap the rewards!

Will Michael's take Joann's iPhone coupons?
I've tried it and Michael's will not accept Joann's iPhone coupons. Perhaps they will revisit their policy in the future--I hope so!
