Well, if you are not prepared to respond to the questions, you might not get the job. However, if you practice a week before or even a couple days before the interview you should be comfortable that you might pass the interview. You will feel comfortable if you practice the following; before you apply try to do some research on the business. It could also be before the interview. Try to find information about the business you are applying.
For example, what kind of business do they run, how long are they in business, and what to them offer. Go alone to your interview. Do not take your kids or friends to the interview. Do not show that you are nervous, or this could be bad for you. If you show you are nervous during the interview, this could affect the opportunity to get the job. The reason I say this is that you are showing the employer your weakness in handling a job .This makes the employer not to trust you in big decision if they hire you. You need to relax and be comfortable with the interview to show you have the strength to handle anything that comes to your way.
Always try to listen carefully to the question. If you do not listen well, try to ask politely to repeat question. If you do not understand the question, ask the interviewer to restate the question. There is nothing wrong to ask to explain the question so you could answer in appropriate. If you do not ask to restate the questions, you might be passing by an opportunity to get the job. Try to answer the questions as directly as possible. Do not change the subject or try to ignore what they ask you. This is very important because employers notice this. If you do not answer the question directly, this is showing you are hiding something. So be very honest and truthful with your answers. Always think before speaking. If you have to wait a couple of seconds to respond this, is okay. Do not rush to answer the question. If you do this, the employer might think you do not take things seriously. So always, take your time in answering the questions.
