Looking for a job? Don't know where to start? Try going to a job fair in your state. This is a great place for hundreds of companies to meet face to face with future employees. Before you start looking for job fairs, make sure you do and bring these essentials:

1) Try to figure out which companies will be going to the job fair or your choice. An easy way to do this is to email the job fair site or calling the local number.

a. Do research on the companies that interest you

i. Employers love to see potential employees who know the basic information and history of their company.

2) Polish up your resume.

a. Check for typos and spelling errors.

b. Update job experience, phone numbers, addresses.

c. Bring extra copies to hand out to potential employers

3) Dress nicely

a. Make sure you are dressed to impress.

b. Men should try to wear conservative shirts, ties, and shoes.

c. Women should try to wear conservative shirts, skirts, or pants, as well as shoes.

d. If possible, remove all piercings, such as nose, lip, or extra ear piercings.

4) Other optional things to bring:

a. A stack of business cards.

b. Career portfolio of your accomplishments.

c. A personal business card with your home and cell number, as well as email and address. These can be made a Kinko's or Office Mac.

d. Pen and paper
