Jobs in High Demand

Melvin Richardson
If you are unemployed this could be a good time to go back to school and get your degree. A better education just might be the key to finding a job. Although there are some jobs out there that don't require additional education. Keep in mind if you are a highly skilled individual with an education the amount of money you can make is significantly more than someone without an education. The more talent and ability you have the better chance you have of finding a job. When you return to school there are several things to keep in mind. Try to locate a field of study that you are passionate about and find out which industries are growing during slow economic periods. Some jobs are always in demand.

Jobs in nursing and healthcare are in high demand right now. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the average annual salary for a nurse is $66,530 in the United States. The requirement for the nursing field will vary from state to state. There are some 2 and 4 year programs.

Debt Collectors are in high demand right now. So many people have fallen past on their debts including, mortgage loans, auto loans, and credit cards that many organizations are forced to hired additional collectors. Some of these jobs only require you to have a high school diploma and a year or two of customer service experience. Of course these requirements will vary from company to company. Debt collectors call past due customers and send out past due notices. They try to help past due customers solve their debt problems.

Other jobs in demand include skilled trades such as plumbers, electricians, and welders. If you are skilled in these particular endeavors you will more than likely be able to find a job quickly. Some of these jobs offer rewarding salaries. To get a skilled job you will be required to get the necessary training and education which will enable you to become efficient in a job of this sort.

Restaurants and hotels are always looking to fill positions. Some of the jobs available in restaurants include waiters, waitress, bus boys, cashiers, managers, servers, dishwashers, and line cooks. For the most part these jobs require no formal training. To get into management it may help to have a degree and previous restaurant experience but not necessary. Requirements will vary from job to job. Hotel personnel are in demand as well. Some of the same jobs you will find in a hotel are night auditor, front desk clerk, catering manager, and a house manager.

Sales representatives are in high demand. To be a sales representative you have to like people, have a good attitude, good work ethic, and have the ability to remain organized and focused. Good sales people don't let rejection bother them. As a sales person you will encounter a lot of rejection. It pays to keep a good attitude when things are not going good. It can take years to hone your skills to be a great sales person, but if you are enthusiastic enough you can make a living at it now and increase your skills as time goes on.

Other jobs in demand are pharmacists and physicians. These types of jobs call for more education than the average job but the pay is well worth it.
