Writing content for people on the Internet
There are millions of websites on the World Wide Web, and there is a constant battle by site owners to have the best, freshest content available to their readers. However, most business owners and webmasters have full time jobs, or other commitments that do not give them a lot of time to research and write articles, blog posts, sales copy, and other forms of content. Instead, they had rather pay others to write it for them. This job is perfect for teens with good research, spelling, and grammar skills. Some people will pay $5 or more for 500 words, and many writers can do 2 articles an hour, meaning this position would pay $10 an hour!
Offering lawn maintenance
If your father owns a lawnmower, weed eater, and pruning scissors, then you can be in business as a lawn care provider. Print flyers and distribute them throughout your neighborhood. Define your rates for doing individual tasks, and include a discounted rate if more than one service is requested. Also provide a contact number so your neighbors can get in touch with you. In the summer, teens can easily make $20 mowing a lawn, especially if it means the owner doesn't have to break a sweat.
Starting a gift wrapping service
This is especially needed during the holiday season, but you can also offer your services throughout the year for birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings. There's always someone buying a gift! Get the word out, especially to men in the area, who don't have a clue about when it comes to wrapping gifts. During December alone, you may be able to bring in $100's in your own bedroom!
Tutoring
If you excel in math or reading, you may want to offer yourself as a tutor to young children in your area. Not only will this business make you about $5 an hour, but you can gain the satisfaction that comes with helping out another child. Hand out flyers, and also ask local teachers to give your contact information to anyone requesting help for their children.
