Jo!e Fresh Pods

Have you ever sat in front of the television on an early morning to find the only thing on are infomercials? I'm not an impulsive buyer but even if I were I'm probably not going to purchase anything off the television when one eye is shut and one is half open. I guess those products are only for sale to those drunk? Sorry, I've never really understood the need to buy the "latest thing to ever happen to America" or "it's a steal for just $19.95, in four easy installments". If anyone has bought something, let me know what you bought and what was going through your head so I can understand better. Thanks.

My mother-in-law, thank the good Lord, does not watch television much. She's absolutely the person that infomercials should be kept from at a long distance. Infomercials would rope her in to buying in multiples within seconds. Unfortunately these products sometimes make it to the shelves (even though the company totes it will never reach the shelves) in grocery stores around the nation. Then for Christmas I'm the guinea pig to test everything out. Not that I'm ungrateful, I just feel guilty when the overpriced items don't work. My impulse is to break one of the Ten Commandments "Thou shall not steal." Then I have to repent… It's an evil circle.

Thankfully the stars are aligned and this year I received three cute items. Both are from a company called Jo!e. I love this company because it reminds me of the kawaii (cute) product lines in Japan. If something has a face, I'm usually sold. Its lame, I know. Already in my tiny kitchen I have the Spud Dude Potato Brush which is basically a small plastic potato that has a face and moving eyes. So adorable and actually works! I bought it for a few dollars. There are also some adorable pig spatulas that I have had my eye on but my husband gives me the face each time I hold one up. I'll happen soon enough.

I received the Tomato Fresh Pod and the Onion Fresh Pod. Upon unwrapping I shamefully wanted to roll my eyes (I was good though I didn't…) Out of respect, I always use the things that I receive. It's the least I can do when someone thinks about me while present shopping.

Once the pods were gently cleaned with soap and water, I got to cooking dinner. I intentionally got out an onion (sorry I didn't have any tomatoes) and used only half of it. I didn't believe it was going to work. I wanted to believe it wouldn't stink up my refrigerator and reduce the flavor when I got it out again. Thankfully the pod showed me, it totally worked just as it said it would.

After a few days of sitting in the Onion Fresh Pod, I found the Onion was just as it was the day I cut it open from the grocery store. It had no scent on the outside of the container but the onion was still fresh and juicy. Perfect! I'm addicted now. I still have to use the Tomato Fresh Pod (I tend to purchase smaller tomatoes in the winter) but I'm sure it will work out just as favorable as the onion pod.

Although I don't understand infomercials still, I do love Jo!e products. The Fresh Pods can be purchased in the fresh produce section of large grocery store chains. Each one runs less than $5.00 (USD) plus tax. In my opinion though, these Fresh Pods are worth the cost and make your kitchen look adorable.
