Joe Lieberman (POS-CT) May Block Health Care Reform

Jeff Musall
It wouldn't be so bad if Joe Lieberman (POS-CT) oh, I'm sorry - (I-CT) would just come out of his corporate closet and caucus with the Republicans. If he would just go on over and say "I'm yours" and let the majority caucus get back to work.

Our boy Joe can't help but side with the Republicans on important issues when it counts. Now he says he "may" support a Republican filibuster against health care reform. Apparently, Joe Lieberman (POS-CT) -oops I did it again - can't vote to bring it to the floor?

Or is that just the excuse he would like to throw out this time? This is the same Joe Lieberman that voted to end a Democratic filibuster of the bankruptcy reform laws, that put millions of Americans more under the thumb of big banks, right?

Joe Lieberman (POS-CT) called the bankruptcy bill "seriously flawed" and ultimately voted against it, but he voted for cloture, for the bill to move to a full Senate vote, which it passed and became law. Apparently Joe felt that the process deserved to go forward then - probably because some of his biggest contributors over the years are banks and other financial institutions.

What other industry joins financial services at the top of his contributions list? Wait for it -oh, I know, you're thinking it can't be that obvious -but it is. Insurance companies, especially health insurance companies, just love giving money to Joe Lieberman, (POS-CT). Go figure.

Joe also voted, in 2005, to confirm Alberto Gonzales. He was instrumental in ending a Democratic filibuster aimed at Bush court appointees. He endorsed John McCain and never backed away or apologized for the concerns he expressed that Barack Obama was a Muslim. Not that being a Muslim is any worse than being a Christian or Jew or any other mythology, but that's not the point.

He was trying to spread fear to help his buddy John McCain (R-AZ) become president. You'd think Joe Lieberman (POS-CT) might hold a grudge against McCain for the whole Sarah Palin debacle.

It could be ol' Droopy Dog is just postering, jealous of Olympia Snowe (R-ME) for getting so much attention.a Maybe Joe wants to feel important too, and wants his backside kissed a little more. The Democratic caucus needs to send a message loud and clear to the Senator - let the bill go forward, or say bye-bye to your chairmanship.

The people of Connecticut should be ashamed that they have put such an obvious corporate lackey in the Senate. But then again, they didn't pull an Oklahoma or Kentucky or the like and do it twice....

What does POS mean? If you stated it, I missed it. ANY chance Lieberman is being true to his convictions, or maybe expressing the will his constituents have expressed to him? Any chance? Seemingly, anyone YOU disagree with is rife for throwing under the bus, but your peeps are always correct, huh Jeff? How is it if a Cons. does it it's always wrong, if a Lefty does it, it's all good? And you claim I am partisan!!! You are the pot eyeballing the kettle Jeff.

Jeff, This is just like you!! You support a Health care bill that has been drafted behind closed doors!! Are you for real? Nobody knows what the bill consists of - yet YOU and the liberals support it. If Republicans did the same thing you would be screaming. I agree 100% with Sen. Lieberman As far as bye-bye to his Chairmanship, Isn't that what happened the last time the Dems made a move against him, and He won the last election by a landslide.
