Joey's Only Seafood & Grill in Las Vegas, Nevada - Restaurant Review

Richard Banks
Within Centennial Hills, a suburb of Las Vegas, is Joey's Only Seafood & Grill. This restaurant is in a location reminiscent of a New York art district. Charming streets and beautiful décor combined with top notch atmosphere sets Joey's Only apart from just another seafood restaurant.

First Impressions

Classic seafood meets new world charm is the best was to describe Joey's Only Seafood & Grill. The restaurant was in a fairly new development awaiting other tenants. The location was great, but due to development, parking was a challenge.

At first glance, one could see the similarities to another Las Vegas favorite, Joe's Crab Shack. The similarities ended in the names. The interior was designed toward an upscale clientele. There were classical paintings on the wall and not nautical themes.

Wait Staff and Menu

A word to describe Joey's Only Seafood & Grill's service is professional. You have a sense of the training and the dedication to customer service the wait staff possess. There was not a moment where anyone from the hostess, to the waiter, to the bus person did they miss a beat. The level of professionalism can only be compared to a well oiled machine.

Meals and Specials

Dining will not break the bank. Patrons can expect to pay approximately $5-10 per meal with ample portions. The seafood dishes are the most expensive dishes. I inquired about the reason behind the price discrepancy. The management explained since the seafood had to be imported from the coasts, the price was market pricing.

The specials at Joey's Only Seafood & Grill include family packs to-go. The packs include:

Halibut Pack (10 pieces of fish, 3 orders of fries, and large coleslaw) - $34.99

Haddock Pack (10 pieces of fish, 3 orders of fries, and large coleslaw) - $26.99

Super Pack (15 pieces of fish, 4 orders of fries, and large coleslaw) - $26.99

Shrimp Pack (42 battered shrimp, 3 orders of fries, and large coleslaw) - $34.99

Seaside Pack (4 orders of popcorn shrimp, 4 pieces of fish, 4 orders of fries, and large coleslaw) - $19.99

Family Pack (10 pieces of fish, 3 orders of fries, and large coleslaw) - $22.99

My Take and Thoughts

The appeal is the location. The shopping center was built to resemble an art district of New York. The clean lines of the buildings were similar to age resistant brownstones. The outdoor dining was perfect for late season eating in the cool air of the desert.

Secondary to the location is the value. Aside from select seafood dishes and family to-go platters, meals are in the $5-$10 range. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy high quality food at a reasonable price.
