John Cusack Tweets Hostility Against Fox News and GOP Leaders

Cusack Supports 'Satanic Death Cult' at Fox News & GOP Offices

When asked about the building of a proposed mosque a few blocks from Ground Zero, site of the bombing of the world trade center, actor John Cusack, on his Twitter page, announced to the world on Sunday that he is "..FOR A SATANIC DEATH CULT CENTER AT FOX NEWS HQ AND OUTSIDE THE OFFICES ORDICK ARMEYAND NEWT GINGRICH-and all the GOP WELFARE FREAKS."

If you are asking yourself what this means, it's anyone's guess, but it was apparently Cusack's idea of a joke, though I doubt his agent is currently laughing. While it remains to be seen what effect this tirade could ultimately have on John Cusack's career, I am reminded of Tom Cruise jumping up and down on Oprah's couch, and the effect his image had on what was once a great career. While Cruise may not be washed up, there is no denying the damage image can do to one's career.

As for the GOP being "Welfare Freaks," even the Democrats are aware that the party of larger government and more welfare is not the GOP. Perhaps Cusack hasn't read the news lately or heard about "Obamacare." Either way, referring to the GOP, which makes up a huge percentage of movie goers, as "welfare freaks" can't be good news for the future of Cusack's career.

Then there is the call for a "Satanic Death Cult Center at Fox News HQ" and at the "offices of Ordick Armey and Newt Gingrich." Undoubtedly, Cusack's tirade was referencing Dick Armey, Republican former House Majority Leader who actively opposed Obama's Health Care Reform Bill, and of course Rep. Newt Gringrich, who may well be in the running as a presidential candidate for his party in 2012. But saying he supports a "Satanic Death Cult Center" anywhere could be viewed as inciting violence and, if it's merely a joke, then it is absolutely in poor taste.

With the country's economy in turmoil and huge numbers of Americans unemployed and seeking not only solutions, but a change in the country's leadership, Cusack's popularity is sure to decline as a result of this hit on his image. Mindless films like Cusacks recent "Hut Tub Time Machine" and "2012" might have given us some insight into the mind of Cusack, but I doubt that few actually connected the dots until Cusack's Twitter statements became newsworthy this week. No matter what you think of Fox News or the Republican Party, there is no denying the popularity of Fox News in the US Today. That being the case, you would think even a Hollywood actor like Cusack would refrain from trying to alienate this entire section of the population, which makes up a huge percentage of his fan base.

If you turn off Faux Noise for a little while, the quiet will set in and your brain will begin to function again, if you are not too far gone.

Cusack clearly, albeit ironically, was referring to the fact that right wing-nuts think it is acceptable to suspend the Constitution's First Amendment if they don't like the person practicing the religion.

Great article. Well done. I understand that many of the Hollywood crowd are on the left, but I don't usually let ones political leaning affect what I watch. But, Cusack is out for me. I just can't handle that much stupidity.

P.T. Barnum was right a fool is born every day. We are a nation of some of the most ignorant and uninformed peaple. It should be a requirement to state an opinion one should first be capable of actual and real thought. Try to get real truth from the media and hold your breath. Life as you know it will end before you get real facts. Kind of like Government, lawyers, insurace sales men, Union leaders, Actors? and used car salesmen- Trust me, Ha. America don't wake up it is already to late.

Brad wants the death penalty for BP, John is for a “satanic death cult center” at the FOX News headquarters; as politics as usual continues, celebrities are coming up with creative fight corruption; and spreading it to their millions of fans.
Who needs superheroes when you have super celebrities?

It does seem that the liberals do not seem to be smart enough to have an intellectual discussion on any subject.
They seem to ooze evil and hatred.

"Cusack's popularity is sure to decline as a result of this hit on his image."

I would bet just about any sum of money that (a) this will have zero effect on Cusack's career or image, and that (b) this 147 character outburst will be completely forgotten in a week. Fox News was quick to respond with a characteristically laughable alarmist article, including the classic out of context headline ("Cusack calls for 'Satanic Death' of Fox News"), a quote from one of their notorious "experts" about the danger of this obviously sarcastic comment, and of course their well-practiced, cynical tone of righteous shock and outrage, designed to inspire idiots around the country to agree with them on impulse.

While the slackjaws on the right might not have the mental capacity to comprehend irony or sarcasm, you may realize that many of Cusack's roles rely on it, and as such so do many of his fans. Therefore, the notion that this will have any effect on his popularity as an actor whatsoever belies n
