John Dye of "Touched by an Angel" Dead at 47

John Dye, who was best known for his role as the Andrew the Angel of Death on "Touched By an Angel," has died at the age of 47.

Reports say that Dye died of heart failure.

Dye's "Touched by an Angel" co-star Valerie Bertinelli posted a message to him on her Twitter account:

"Dear, sweet John Dye, rest in peace."

John Dye also appeared on the television show in "Murder, She Wrote." His film credits include "The Perfect Weapon," "Sioux City, Modern Girls," and "Fist of the Warrior."

John Dye is survived by his father, and brothers Jerre and Jamey Dye.
