John Edwards Make Me Proud to Be an American
John Edwards did you know that I am in pain, and no doctor will see me? What is that, you heard me. Your demand for health care for your country, will soon take care of me.
John Edwards did you know that I cry every night about feeding my family? You speak to my heart and tell me, I will eliminate poverty. The next generation, it will be history. My hopes rise high in me. I can breathe because my children will have such a great country. And until that poverty is history, you still stand right next to me. You plan to help the poor, the middle class and the women of this country. I can whisper in my babies ear and speak of the job my country has made for me.
John Edwards, you will make college a reality. Good schools and affordable college, is what you will give to me. Mr. Edwards, you were the first person in your family to attend college, so I know you understand what this means to my family. I look forward to watching my children enjoy their opportunity.
John Edwards, you have heard the cry of our dear earth and how sick she is to be. You plan to help earth heal, and provide clean energy. America will be independent and make our own energy. Clean energy technology!
John Edwards, you will even bring back our countries generosity. You have plans to help fight global poverty. I am so glad that you see that it isn't just an American dream, to eat, live, breathe and be free.
John Edwards you have made your promises to me. A president to stand by me and help me live and be. The country will be proud of you, because it will finally be free. Free to live the life, that America is supposed to be. So I will stand up and vote for you with all my hope and dreams.

It all sounds so nice but I'm afraid we've heard it all before.
Promises are just promises until they are brought to fruition. How many promises have been made and then broken? We are definitely in need of change and deserve it. If Edwards can make it happen, then he's our man. I have yet to decide on who gets my vote. 2008 should be an interesting year.

I believe this writer is speaking out not only for herself, but for all of "us" as in "we". I think that she is speaking out for all future generations. QUOTE: "Ask what you can do for your country"...OK, and who is your country? We the people "we" are! this country. Yes its true, John Edwards is a politician not a saint, and your point? I did not hear this writer refer to him as a saint. Was JFK a saint? I guess my question is; In your opinion, what do you recommend "we" do for our country. Maybe give an example of what "you" do for our country. Just a thought.
In the words of the other John, who made me proud to be an American, 'ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.' Sounds like you are more interested in what your country should be doing for you. John Edwards is a politician, not a saint and will say whatever it takes to get elected. Yes there are problems here in our country, but real poverty has been eliminated. Take a look at Africa if you want to know poverty. Most of them don't have access to computers, let alone the internet, so you're ahead of 99% of the planet already. Just a thought.
