John Edwards-Rielle Hunter Affair Produces Sex Tape as Well as Baby

Just when you thought the Edwards-Hunter affair could not get any more tawdry, it has just been revealed that John Edwards allegedly made a sex tape with his mistress Riellle Hunter. In August John Edwards admitted he had an affair with Hunter and then largely disappeared from the radar. His wife Elizabeth Edwards has also been largely silent about the affair.

Then as reported in "John Edwards Admits Affair, Fathering Love-Child with Rielle Hunter," last week, Edwards was forced to admit that he fathered a child with Rielle Hunter when former aide Andrew Young came forward stating that John Edwards asked him to fake a paternity test with DNA from one of the baby's diapers. Young complied with Edwards' request and claimed the paternity of Hunter's child Frances, who was conceived in the spring of 2007, several months after Hunter stopped working for Edwards.

In the statement Edwards released last Thursday, he stated, "I will do everything in my power to provide her (Frances) with the love and support she deserves. I have been able to spend time with her during the past year and trust that future efforts to show her the love and affection she deserves can be done privately and in peace."

Andrew Young came across an unmarked tape and did what any self-respecting aide would do - he popped it in and discovered an alleged sex tape of Edwards and Hunter which "is explicit and reveals that Edwards 'is physically very striking, in a certain area,'" according to Gawker.com. Gawker reports the tape was part of the reason Young became disillusioned and decided to write his book.

Young will be releasing his tell-all book The Politician on February 2 through Thomas Dunne Books, which is why all this salacious news is suddenly leaking into the blogosphere.

Questions about Edwards' Campaign Funds

Last May Edwards acknowledged that federal investigators were looking into how he used campaign funds. There have been some questions about whether or not he used campaign funds improperly to pay more than $100,000 to Hunter's production company. Edwards hired Hunter as a videographer before his second run for the White House. Now it appears the John Edwards campaign trail was not all that Rielle Hunter videotaped.
