John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston, MA

The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum is located at 220 William T. Morrissey Boulevard in Boston, Massachusetts. The campus of the University of Massachusetts is located next to the museum. Twenty-five multimedia exhibits will keep you fascinated as you walk through the nation's official memorial to John F. Kennedy, the 35^th president of the United States.

Three theaters at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum will enthrall you with their presentations. The first film portrays President Kennedy's life from his early youth through his years in the Navy during the war continuing with his years in Congress and the Senate and right up to his nomination for the presidency. Adding to the intriguing atmosphere of this introduction to the museum and the man it honors, you'll listen to the sound of the president's voice as he narrates the events of the 1960s.

The exhibits at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum give visitors a glimpse into the life of the President using his words to portray not only his life, but also, his reaction to it.

Within the library, public affairs programs are featured under the Kennedy Library Forums umbrella. The programs, which are forms of open discussion, touch upon the legacy of John F. Kennedy and his years in the White House. The topics range from the historical to the cultural to the political.

The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum is a glorious structure, designed by I.M. Pei. It is surrounded with landscaping that brings to mind the area of Cape Cod that the president was so fond of including wild roses and pine trees.

The nearly 10-acre site offers scenic waterfront views of the harbor and the Boston Harbor Islands. Between the months of May and October, the Victura, President Kennedy's sailboat, is showcased on the grounds with the Boston Harbor as its backdrop.

The museum is open daily from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. with the exception of December 25, New Year's Day, and Thanksgiving Day. The Research Room is open by appointment only on Mondays through Fridays from the hours of 8:30 am until 4:30 pm.

A small entrance fee is charged to enter the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum with pricing for children, adults, and seniors. Children under the age of 12 gain free entrance to the museum. The building is handicap accessible and has a limited number of wheelchairs for rental. A museum shop showcases interesting souvenirs.

The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum includes a small café, located on the entrance level, that serves a light menu during the hours of 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. Free parking is available. Additionally, the museum is accessible by public transportation. Plus, guided tours are offered for school groups by appointment only.
