John Frieda's Frizz-Ease Firm-Hold Hair Spray: A Review

Alexis Valentine
Finding good quality hairspray for an affordable price can be difficult. I'm Asian-American and I was born with straight, flat, fine hair. I wasn't fortunate enough to be the type of Asian that has lusciously thick, gorgeous hair. I've always had trouble styling my hair, especially when it came to curling it because my hair almost never stays curled for more than 30 minutes. I've never been the hair product type of girl either because I prefer to wear it natural and keep as manychemicals off my hair as possible. That was until my best friend got married and made me her maid of honor. As the maid of honor I had no way of getting out of taking pictures so I wanted to do something special with my hair. At the time my hair was shorter and there wasn't much I could do but curl it, so I went out searching for a super strength hairspray and came across John Frieda's Frizz-ease moisture barrier firm hold hairspray.

About

A regular bottle of John Frieda's Frizz-ease moisture barrier firm hold hairspray costs roughly $6 and I got my travel size for about $1 at Wal-Mart. What this product is design to do is create an instant barrier against moisture to lock your hairstyle. The moisture barrier seals out humidity and keeps the hair from frizzing no matter the weather. It's meant to dry quickly and is specially formulated to give your hair shine and protect it with sunscreen.

My Experience
Pros

I'm not a hairspray person but after trying out John Frieda's Frizz-ease moisture barrier firm-hold hairspray this will be my go-to hairspray whenever I need it. I was surprised and pleased with the scent, it smelled nice, very light and nothing like what aerosol hairsprays normally smell like. It isn't sticky either and I find that it really does protect my hair from moisture and holds my curls very well. In fact it holds my curls for nearly all day. John Frieda's Frizz-ease moisture barrier firm-hold hairspray goes on dry, is CFC free and comes in travel size. I like that it adds shine to my hair, although my hair is pretty shiny alone, but doesn't make my hair look like plastic.

Cons

There were only a few negative things that I could think of in regards to John Frieda's Frizz-ease moisture barrier firm-hold hairspray. The price for the regular size is fairly expensive in my opinion. Six dollars is a tad more than other brands of hairspray. I also didn't like that my hair felt dry even if it didn't look like it.

Verdict

The quality of the product is worth the money. I wouldn't mind it costing a little less but this hairspray isn't so costly that it's not affordable. The important thing is that it works very well, gets the job done and works great with fine hair.
