John Kerry's "Bad Joke" About the Military: Where the Real Dummies End Up
Where Can a High School Drop-Out Go and Become Fabulously Wealthy?
Take a look at the education levels of many of the Hollywood Royalty who think so highly of themselves that they actually believe they are military strategists. Af ter reading this you'll see... it takes little education to make it in Hollywood. In fact, based on some of the garbage currently coming out of Tinsel Town, the less education, the better your chances may be of hitting the big time.
Cher: Dropped out of school in 9th grade. Career - Singing and acting and denigrating George Bush.
Barbra Streisand : Completed high school. Career - Singing and acting. Streisand not only is an expert military strategist, but an expert Democrat. She once wrote a scathing letter to the Democrat leadership, explaining how they should be handling things. She sent it to Dick Gephardt and someone leaked it to the media. It was embarrassingly full of typos and other errors, yet we should trust our security to her. Uh-huh. I pasted a copy at the bottom of this article.
Martin Sheen: Flunked exam to enter University of Dayton. Career- Acting
Jessica Lange: Dropped out of college mid-freshman year. Career - Acting
Alec Baldwin: Dropped out of George Washington. Career- Acting. Back during the Clinton impeachment, Baldwin went on TV and said Americans should go to the home of Henry Hyde, take up rocks, and stone him AND HIS FAMILY to death. Now he says it was a joke. He and John Kerry have a lot in common... inability to tell a joke and lack of common sense to know what is funny.
Julia Roberts: Completed high school. Career - Acting. Another failed jokester... says she looked up Republican in the dictionary and found it between "reptile" and "repugnant." Surprisingly, Ms. Roberts does know her alphabet. But she failed to realize that Democrat is in the dictionary between "decay" and "dumb-as-a-doorknob."
Sean Penn: Completed High school. Career- Acting
Susan Sarandon: Degree in Drama from Catholic University of America in Washington, D. C. Career -
Acting. At least she has a degree, though I wasn't aware that a degree in drama qualifies one as an expert in military strategy, or in fact, anything other than standing on a stage mouthing words written by someone else.
Ed Asner: Completed High school. Career - Acting. Asner is an outspoken admirer of Fidel Castro. He did a radio interview in which he got agitated and claimed that George Bush is bad, bad, bad, though when he was asked why Bush is bad, he had no explanation and said it was true because he knows it is true. Allrighty then. I guess he is such a god that we are supposed to take his enlightened word for it.
George Clooney: Dropped out of University of Kentucky Career- Acting.
Larry Hagman: Attended Bard College for one year.
Career- Acting
Michael Moore: Dropped out first year University of Michigan. Career- Movie Director. Some people love his documentaries (fake-umentaries?) but even some highly placed liberals admit they contain numerous errors and are edited to create a false impression. So much for honesty.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Completed High School. Career- Acting
Jennifer Anniston: Completed High School. Career- Acting
Mike Farrell: Completed High school. Career- Acting
Janeane Garofalo: Dropped out of College. Career - Stand up comedienne. Garofalo said in an interview that she didn't protest war efforts under Clinton although she claims to have opposed them. Her reason for not protesting then she says, is because it "wasn't hip." Janeane's lack of depth is obvious. She does, however, have the unique ability to get in the minds of every Republican Christian woman, because she claims to know that we are "self-haters." Janeane loves to say that George Bush is ... get this... "intellectually incurious." In a TV interview she said those words over and over and over, as if saying them makes us think she is intelligent. Uh... no.
Well Janeane... let's compare your intellectual curiousity to Bush's. Janeane didn't make it in college, and now has a failed career on Air America.
Here are just a few of the credentials of the Bush Administration.
President George W. Bush: Received a Bachelors Degree from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business
School. He served as an F-102 pilot for the Texas Air National Guard.
Vice President Dick Cheney: Earned a B. A. in 1965 and a M. A. in 1966, both in political science.
Secretary of State and former National Security Adviser Condoleeza Rice: Earned her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Denver in 1974; her Master's from the University of Notre Dame in 1975; and her Ph. D. from the Graduate School of International Studies at the University of Denver in 1981. (Note: Rice enrolled at the University of Denver at the age of 15, graduating at 19 with a
Bachelor's Degree in Political Science (Cum Laude).
Here's what I want to know: we all have opinions. Few of us get microphones shoved in our faces every time we burp, and have those burps recorded as if they were the wisdom of the ages. Why do we do that with celebrities? Most of us have more education and probably better morals and common sense than the Hollywood stars listed above, who seem to believe they could do a better job at running the war and the country and your life and my life. We give these people microphones so they can entertain us, and the dumbest among them use those microphones to shove their politics down our throats... and some Americans let them. If you are taking your political views from Cher... you've got bigger problems than being politically misguided.
Here's a clue: just because someone can stand on a stage and recite words written by someone else, that does not make them experts on anything except maybe standing on a stage and reciting someone else's hard work. Why then, do they think that makes them experts on everything? Most of them have severely messed up lives and chances are, your life is better. It's true that most of them have talent, but so do the high school drama groups around the country. The difference is, those kids haven't been "discovered" and don't have personal trainers, hair stylists, and special photography to give the illusion that they look better than others.
Here is a copy of Major General Barbra Streisand's Directive to the Democrats
CONFIDENTIAL MEMO
DATE. September 25, 2002
TO: Congressman Dick Gebhardt
FROM Barbra Streisand/Margery Tabankin
RE. Take the Offense
As you know, Barbra Streisand is busy in rehearsals for the performance she's giving on Sunday for the DCCC, so she asked me convey to you her feeling that it is time for the Democrats to get off the defensive and go on the offensive.
Naturally, Barbra's not surprised to see the Bush administration evoke strong rhetoric about Democrats caring more about their own 'special interests' than protecting the security of the country. Of course, the Republicans will say anything they need to in order to accomplish their own political agenda. Barbra feels that the Democratic Leadership must not continue to take this lying down.
While the Republicans are shouting about the Democrats' special interests, why are the Democrats not saying the same about the Republicans? How can we ignore the obvious influence on the Bush Administration of such special interests as the oil industry, the chemical companies, the logging industry, the defense contractors, the mining industry, and the automobile industry, just to name a few? Many of these industries, run by big Republican donors and insiders, clearly have much to gain if we go to war against Iraq. Barbra urges the Democrats to publicly convey this message to the American people.
While there are serious problems with Iraq and Saddam Hussein, Barbra feels that we can't let this issue become a distraction from the country's domestic problems and the President inability to fully dismantle the Al Queda network. Afterall, Sadam Hussein did not bomb the World Trade Center.
Feel free to call Barbra or me at 310-395-3599 if you would like to discuss this further.

Post a CommentThis is still one of the best articles I've read on AC to date. :-)
>>"things just happen--what can I say, I'm human">> Almost there! that sounds *almost* like an admission of guilt but it still sounds too much like a "not my fault" excuse!! I'm just teasing ya man, you're right I didn't read any other comments but I'll take your word for it that they were "name-calling" free. We're certainly well off topic at this point, eh? Cheers Paul.
Listen Oliver, all I was trying to say is that I will refrain from name calling if I am given the same courtesy. Unfortunately, Manda has often said mean and hateful things to myself and others, and therefore, as I said, the gloves are off. If you were able to see the entirety of my commentary, you would see that I mostly stay on topic and stay away from petty name calling and character assassination. Every once in a while I get fired up and things just happen--what can I say, I'm human
Paul said>>"so I am by no means being hypocritical in calling her a coward. Besides, she actually is a coward.">> Please refresh my memory of the word "hypocritical" because apparently it doesn't mean what I thought. Furthermore, your justification of your actions-- "oh, yeah, uh, well we've been fighting for a while, so, uh, it's ok" is a good example of living by a code of moral relativism where morals are determined by each individual person and in typical liberal fashion, you think THE RULES THAT APPLY TO EVERYONE ELSE DONT APPLY TO YOU. As long as you can convince YOURSELF that you are doing what's right and justify the questionable behavior, then your conscience is clear-- it's only hypocritical if someone else is engaging in it. and "hit'n run commentary" is hardly a condemnable quality. There are alot of articles on here and I often make comments and then forget what article it was and never go back to check (if that's what you meant by hit 'n run, anyway) I like you Paul,
Well no one has done any of that on this article, or any of your other articles as far as I can tell. Besides, I still don't understand how people commenting on your articles constitutes intimidation. I have been called awful things in the comment section of my articles, but I'm not whining about it. Your intention in writing this inflammatory article was to generate applause from those who agree, as well as ire from those who disagree. Basically, if you are looking for a fight, don't complain when you get punched in the face (proverbially of course). Oliver--The gloves have been off between Manda and I for a while now and she would never hesitate to say the most vile things about me--so I am by no means being hypocritical in calling her a coward. Besides, she actually is a coward in her hit-n-run commentary.
Paul Angelo: One more point. You say I call people who disagree with me Liberal Thugs. If you actually read my comments you would know that the Liberal Thugs are Liberal Thugs because of their behavior, not their disagreement. My sister is a liberal and we disagree on just about everything political. But she is one of the best people I know. I would never call her a Liberal Thug. But she would never go on a Web site like this and try to stop me or other conservatives from supporting Bush or promoting conservative ideas. I've read articles by conservatives that cite facts, and do not insult liberals, yet below them are comments from Liberal Thugs who do nothing but condemn us just for thinking differently... the Liberal Thugs don't cite verifiable facts, they have fits. They throw food and slash tires... this you cannot deny. I've heard that Liberal Thugs have gone on the AC forums and started false rumors about conservatives to try to keep up from writing things that you disagree with.
Paul, Paul, Paul. I'm pretty sure I didn't say "those who disagree with me are liberal thugs" or anything like that. Liberal thugs are those of you who go through AC content and try to intimidate the conservatives from saying anything YOU disagree with. Poor baby.
Paul Angelo said: "Conversely, the people who disagree with this article have done no name calling" in the adjacent comment, Paul writes: "Manda, you are the perfect example of a coward." Now golly gee whiz if that's not another botched joke!
Also Manda, If you'll notice, Rond and Daniel are doing the name calling in this discussion, Rond called those who disagree "liberal thugs", Daniel called us "libzards", S.L. said "idiots". Even the word liberal is intended in a derogatory way when you guys use it. Conversely, the people who disagree with this article have done no name calling(although I may have missed one). Disagreement isn't the same as "name calling", "slashing tires" and "throwing food".
Manda, you are the perfect example of a coward. Your little hit n'run contributions to these discussions are getting old. You hardly ever have a point to make about the topic at hand, often times only insults for those you disagree with and then you're gone. But, as to the things you just wrote--do you realize how silly you sound? According to the things you are saying, no one is ever justified in speaking out because it would always be "bashing our country and leader" (although it is probably ok when there is a Dem president--right manda?). As I have said before, you AC conservatives are the perfect subjects for dictatorship.
