John Mayer: Five A-List Celebrities He Should Not Date

Musician John Mayer has been linked to some big name celebrities over the years. On this personalized list of who's who are, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Simpson, Cameron Diaz, Minka Kelly, Jennifer Aniston and Taylor Swift. However, due to his bad boy image and serial dating ways (currently highlighted in the Taylor Swift song Dear John), not all celebrities should be on John's list of who he should date next. Here are five prominent celebrities who are better off not hooking up with John.

Courtney Cox Arquette

Recently separated from her husband, actor David Arquette, Courtney has denied she is getting a divorce . Though Courtney was once a celebrity serial dater herself, it would be bad form for Mayer to hook-up with her, after all Courtney is still friends with Jennifer Aniston, and she still wants to work on her marriage. Aside from that, Courtney is 13 years older than Mayer, which would make Cox-Arquette befitting of the title "cougar," if they did hook up.

Selena Gomez

A celebrity whose star is on the rise, Selena, is 18 years old, and even younger than Taylor Swift. Besides her age, Gomez, who sports a purity ring, maintains a squeaky clean image while being linked to guys much closer to her age (Taylor Lautner and Nick Jonas). Overall, Selena Gomez is one celebrity that Mayer should steer clear of.

Natalie Portman

Sure, Natalie Portman is a high profile celebrity who has a history of dating musicians, having been linked to both Moby and Devendra Obi Banhart in the past. However, Natalie is currently involved in a relationship with ballet dancer/choreographer Benjamin Millepied . Even if Natalie wasn't involved in a relationship, her interests and level of maturity would not be on par with Mayer.

Reese Witherspoon

Now a few years removed from her marriage to actor Ryan Phillippe, and with her relationship to Jake Gyllenhaal also in the past, Reese Witherspoon is an A-list celebrity whose age is closer to that of John Mayer. However, Witherspoon is a mother of two who is probably looking for a significant other more stable than Mayer. Also standing in the way of this potential hook-up is Reese's agent Jim Toth, who Reese has been dating lately, though she has denied that they are engaged.

Rihanna

At only 22 years old, Rihanna's former relationship with musician Chris Brown should be enough to make her swear off bad boys forever. Though they travel in the same social circles as shown in this picture, the two would not make for a compatible pairing. In the end, Rihanna is better off staying with her baseball playing boyfriend Matt Kemp.
