Musician John Mayer, whose album Continuum is released in stores today, has stated that he is, in fact, bringing "Sweaty back." This term is in reference to fellow musician Justin Timberlake's album FutureSex/LoveSounds, which also hits stores today. Timberlake's single, which has been hitting airwaves for about a month now, is entitled "Sexy Back". The song has Timberlake proclaiming various times throughout the track, "I'm bringing sexy back." This lyric has been prematurely overused in various media forms. The Video Music Awards, which aired on MTV September 7 and had Timberlake opening the show with said song, had an appearance by former Vice-President Al Gore who was there to speak on environmental issues. Before beginning his piece, Gore said he was at first not going to appear at the awards show, but then heard that, "Justin Timberlake was bringing sexy back" so he had to show up.

While discussing the release of his new album on a celebrity news/gossip show yesterday, Mayer said, "Timberlake, you're going down" speaking of the simultaneous release of his and Timberlake's albums. He then stated that, in fact, both albums were entirely different. While Timberlake was bringing sexy back, Mayer said, he himself was "Bringing sweaty back."

Both John Mayer and Justin Timberlake's albums can be purchased at music retailers nationwide.

So can The Rapture's.
