John McCain is No Hero

I'm sorry, but flying safely over impoverished farmers who have never done anything to you and pressing a button to cause many of them to be burned alive and killed does not make a war hero or hero of any kind. It makes you a murderer and traitor when you consider that the United States constitution specifically states that the military can only be used in self defense and the United Nations after World War II stated that invading a country that has not attacked you for any reason is not only murder, it represents the highest war crime known to man and is punishable by the death penalty. Also, politically, John McCain has just been another government sycophant and is now trying to leach off the military industrial complex with his lust for endless war.

The reality of John McCain, as was exposed in the book The Myth of a Maverick by Matt Welch, McCain was simply an inept, stupid, arrogant person born with a silver spoon in his mouth like George W. Bush. Due to his connections to his famous military family McCain received a free ride his entire life. Before I will go any further, I will acknowledge that his five years in a Vietnamese prison were probably horrific beyond imagination, but beyond that he has never earned a single thing he has received. He did not have the sufficient grades to get into the military academy he was accepted in and finished nearly at the bottom of his class. On top of that McCain crashed five airplanes. No one else would have remained at the academy after doing that.

And let's talk about McCain's political experience. Throughout his history he favored corporate bailouts, and also voted against military pay raises time and time again. He was one of the few senators who voted against the new GI Bill, claiming it would hurt retention when recruiters claimed it would attract an additional 20% retention.

So he picks a woman as a vice president as gimmick to get him elected, and people are falling for it. Let's talk about McCain's personal life, which involves cheating on his wife, dumping her for a trophy wife to marry into a beer fortune and calling his wife a c**t in public. I cannot even imagine thinking saying such a thing.

A little more evidence of John McCain's character was his macabre imitation of the Beach Boy's tune Barbaran when he did his little ditty "Bomb Bomb Bomb, Bomb Bomb Iran" nonchalantly joking about murdering potentially millions of people who do not have the means to attack us. Also, his comments about possibly engaging China military and possibly Russia are alarming, considering this could lead to World War III and the destruction of us all. Yet, people fall for the media propaganda and the films of him surviving unspeakable horrors in a prison camp as Fred Thompson gushes on and on about things that have nothing to do with the skill set of being President. There were many others who endured unspeakable horrors in prison camps and went on to be forgotten. Let's also not forget that according to many Vietnam veterans who were in the same prison John McCain committed treason by revealing secret information to the enemy in exchange for medical care and was willing to work for a Vietnamese radio station.

McCain has spoken fondly of being a kid and remembering a car driving up beside him and someone saying the Japanese invaded Pearl Harbor. He probably longs for the cold war and talks about war romantically. Currently, he is being advised by neoconservatives like William Kristol who drew up the "brilliant" plan to invade Iraq. Kristol was recently quoted as suggesting that there is no point in having nuclear weapons if we don't use them. I don't know about you, but this scares me, as I don't have a key to the secret luxury bunker. McCain has also expressed admiration for Dick Cheney and wants to add him to his cabinet. Pat Buchanan said in an Interview on the Matt Scarborough Show that John McCain would make Dick Cheney look like Gandhi.

For the people that get caught up in the constructed myth of John McCain the war hero, all you need to do is watch a video that a saw on YouTube of John McCain at a town hall meeting - a video that has been mysteriously removed from the web - when he said "the illegal immigrants aren't going anywhere, there's going to be less jobs, and more wars." Whether you think John McCain is a war hero or not, is that something we want to embrace as a nation: less jobs, more wars.

For once, can we call someone a hero who has not killed anyone, maybe someone who saved a life or too. How about Ron Paul who was a flight surgeon in Vietnam and helped produce life by delivery thousands of babies? Or even John Kerry, who instead of getting shot down for being a lousy pilot dove into the water with bullets flying around him and pulled two people out who would have most certainly drowned. Chicken hawk Republicans had no problem bashing his patriotism, and even hired people to lie to say he faked his metals. Therefore, I feel no reason to have any mercy on the warmongering John McCain whose election will surely destroy this country economically, kill many more Americans and possibly end life as we know it with World War III.
